This is a West Highland White Terrier, or Westie. Other similar dogs are the Cairn Terrier, and Scottish Terrier (scottie). The Cairn is almost exactly the same, but brown or caramel colored, and the Scottie is Black with a longer mussel. I have a female Westie and she is a fantastic dog. The females are from 13-17 pounds and the males are from 15-20 pounds.

A Westie is only as behaved as their owner/obedience trainer. I have 4 Westies and everyone of them are the best behaved dogs. I would NEVER have another breed!
