by the wayy.. i have caught a barbel (or barbe idk how u call it) aswell one year ago when i was 16..it was about 70cm..big fish ..i remember the amazing drill..short but tuff..but do u eat barbels if u catch them??

No, haven't caught one yet,but am not discouraged, I realise how scarce they are! I will just continue enjoying my chub fishing and if I do encounter a barbel will treat it as a massive bonus! The sow is my favourite river, it is very underrated, there are some quality fish to be had if you put in a bit of effort, as you well know! anyway, tight lines Ian

well done stewart, a cracking result! I am a regular on the sow and would love a barbel from there, the chub always get to my bait first though!
