What's really reprehensible is that the Hitler footage is actual footage of Japanese buildings getting bombed in WWII in what is supposed to be a kiddie sci-fi flick. Yikes.

@mst3KGf Not true, although that's a popular rumor. It's a model of a Japanese department store from the 60s. Why is there a big mural of Hitler on the side? Easy. It's promoting a 1960/61 film version of Mein Kampf. The models were built for a lost Japanese disaster film called "The Final War", and some of the footage from that movie was used for this one.

There IS a logical explanation...Japanese movie theaters use giant posters on their buildings to promote their films, and at the time that the original Japanese TV serial from which "Neptune Men" is derived was filmed, there was a feature film out about Adolf Hitler, with Richard Basehart in the title role (which, of course, would KILL Gypsy if she ever found out).
