I use the same gel and I LUV LUV LUV it... It make my locs feel light and I can shake them...lol, but anyway I just wanted to say that I cannot wait til my locs gets longer, Im on my 8th month right now and the experiences Ive had with hy hair has been wonderful and Ive learned so much about my hair... LUV my LOcS ....and the curls in ur locs are gorgeous...Hope the curls in my hair comes out ok...Wish me Luck :]
Thanx sooo much hun! I was about to chop mine down to a couple of inches after wearing the same style (up) and not knowing what else to do with them! I've had locs for 15yrs and have had to cut/trim them many times. Two years ago, they were getting out of hand & heavy so I cut 6-7 inches off, but they've grown back to my waist already.
Thanx again for posting this, I'm gona try it 2mo!
Your hair look hard my girl! Beeswax makes ur hair clumpy and adds a lots of dirt and gunk, so I avoid it.. I use Mango & Lime loc gel, makes my hair smell nice and gives it a nice hold too.. nice video :)
this is genius!!! i have box braid right now and plan on keeping them in for the semester. I've been looking for ways to style them and I have to try this!
Peace sis. Your locs are most def beautiful. I noticed that you have done what most peep w/ locs have done....combine locs. I believe that it was a video from Chesleigh (SP??) that put me on it, but after combining my mother's locs I threaded them. You can use whatever color thread that matches your hair and thread them together, palm roll it and eventually they will matte together. Then you will be able to remove the thread. Much respect to you! BlessNs~
Msned12, your skills are mad awesome! I sent you a response to show you what happened when i tried your technique! Thanks so much for sharing your skills!!
i think your informative , try jamaican mango and lime products they are natural and make no build up on the hair.AND it holds the new growth in place until it locks great stuff give it a try . you won't go back to what you use now . good luck.
Thank you, thank you. This was so great. Since I've moved to Germany I now use Vaseline and a hair gel to hold my locks and it works. It was hard for me because I couldn't find the "Loc Juice" here. Again you are great, thanks!
My locks are past my derriere but I think I'll try it anyways. Yours turned out beautifully! I normally just braid my hair right after washing and leave in to dry for about 3 days and then take it down and it's all crinkled : ) One suggestion though, you can "palm roll" your hair now that it's long enough and it will take you less than half the time it does now when you twist it!! I hope that helps : )
Thats a great idea! I am going to give it a try this weekend. I love that you dont have to buy or add anything to the process. Thanks for sharing this! Be blessed!
Wow! So cute! I am tempted to try it myself, but my hair is so long and I have so many locs, i can just imagine how long it would take to do and the agony my arms would endure. I curl mine just by washing, towel drying til damp, braiding (leave in for like 24 hrs), then undo. It works for me so I like, but I wish I had learned this technique when mine were shorter. Anywho, thanks for sharing, I'm going to subscribe to you now!
Thanks for the tips girl!!! I am definitely going to try your technique, I've curled my locs using rods but it is so uncomfortable to sleep with them in but this looks way easier to handle... excellent vid.. keep them coming
petroleum is NO GOOD for locks...stop use immediately it breaks your hair at the root..you ever put petroluem jelly on a cut, well, the cut heals and the scap dries up..petroleum is bad babes
I watched this vid many times and tried the technique...turns out, I had to use a different method for bantu knots, BUT, Msned12 gave me the idea of curling my locs without rollers and by using the knots...my hair looks GREAT!!!! Thanks Msned12!
Oh snap..lol This is like...wow. This is probably the best spiral curl technique I've ever seen for locs. I've been natural for 6 and loc'd for 3...hmmm. Doing this TONIGHT. Thanks sis.
holy cow! You just showed me how to do bantu knots...i've tried, but always messed those up. Thanks so much for making this so much easier. Just curious...did you air dry your hair completely? Did you use diluted setting lotion or anything? I'm gonna try this...end even do this with my roots twisted (i like the twist with no clips).
Yay! I did air dry it probably would have been shorter if I sat under the drier but I need to be free. Also I didnt use any setting lotion or anything except the gel shown in the vid.. I would love to see a response:)
Your curly locs are gorgeous! I will natural for one year in may of 2009 and so far I rock a big fro and two strand twist. I am seriously considering locing my hair. I heard that locs are low maintanience and I need that because I am such a busy person. What advice would you give to me about starting locs? I am going to a local professional to get them started,,,How long will it take for my hair to loc? I have really long hair...your hair is gorgeous and keep up the good work!
great video. I'll try this on my sis' locs. I usually use rollers on hers.
Good thing u don't use that beeswax anymore. All of those ingredients were bad news!!! Petroleum, mineral oil and lanolin. they will dry your hair out and cause breakage!
wow....that was pretty...I've never seen anybody curl their locs without a lock loop or something like that....I'm natural...but I haven't locked yet...thinking about....more inspiration to go ahead and do it!!! Thanks
if you go four weeks without retwisting, then how often do you wash your hair? It seems to me that whenever I wash my locs I have to retwist. I don't understand how one can wash without retwisting. I wash my locs about one a week, and then sometimes I just rinse, but still twist.
I used to wash my hair more often when it was short but call me a bad girl I should wash it more often than 3-4 weeks. I guess I do not find the time. But I also have to twist after I wash. I wash more in the summer.
hey there. a coupla friends sent me your video because my hair wasn't responding to the loc loops for curls. I tried your look and I think it came out pretty good. I'm trying to post a video response. Hope it works...thanks

if you go four weeks without retwisting, then how often do you wash your hair? It seems to me that whenever I wash my locs I have to retwist. I don't understand how one can wash without retwisting. I wash my locs about one a week, and then sometimes I just rinse, but still twist.
