@geetarguy531 Thank you very much for your kind words and support. You know what, I believe that everything is possible, just keep on practicing and you’ll get to the level better than this. Just never give up! Practice makes perfect :-)
This is awesome stuff, I love old standards like this on nylon stringed guitars. I always wonder though, how does this guitar perform in a combo setting? Is there any way you could put a video up with you and a bass player/drummer as well? That would be awesome!
@WhiteNightRiots Thank you very much for your kind words and support of jazz. As per your question: I usually perform in trio format with acoustic bass and drums or bass guitar, drums etc. This instrument handles higher volumes really well in my opinion. I do not have that video yet, only some demos in mp3. I use AER Compact 60 though, that helps a lot too.
@AlexSeverinetsJazz If you could link me those demos, I'd really like that, as I'm curious (and as well, I'd like to hear more of your playing!) I mostly wanna see how a nylon stringed instrument sits in the mix, you know? If it cuts through at all.
@WhiteNightRiots Thanks again for your appreciation and interest in my playing. Let me work on making possible for those demos to be listened to by other people. I’ll keep in mind that and maybe next video I’ll record will be on this acoustic guitar with the band. Please come back to my channel since I am planning to continue releasing more material on Youtube.
@Lipuma1964 Thanks for your kind words, I am really flattered! Regardless the fact that I am NOT paid by Godin :) I am a true fan of this company especially when it comes to their signature/multiac series. Was inspired to get this guitar by Sylvain Luc. The guy really can play and for me at that time that was it, I needed to get it no matter what.
@AlexSeverinetsJazz I am currently where you were. I am listening a lot to Sylvain Luc, especially his work with Bireli. Totally in love with the Godin nylon sound and I am saving up for the nylon model. Can you elaborate a bit on how the neck feels, playability etc compared to an archtop? Enjoyed your performance. Thanks!
@AmundLauritzen thanks for your kind words. As per your question, the feel of the neck of a guitar is a very personal matter. For me I had at one point of time three different Godin guitars and on all of them i really liked the neck. Well, I have beefy fingers, I must say and like bigger necks in general.
@MasonRazavi Man, I checked your channel and you are an amazing musician yourself. Thank you very much for your comment. It is always great to hear a compliment from a professional guitarist. As per Godin guitars, that one I have for about ten years now and it only gets better with the age. All the electronics parts are still working :) Great guitars, Man! That's the only thing I can tell you.
@itamarerez thanks a lot for your kind words! it is twice as pleasant to hear them from such a amazing musician as you are. I am having a lot of joy and pleasure listening to your really wonderful and unique approach on the guitar. Keep it up, Man!!! The world needs your music.
Thanks for the response Alex. As of Joe pass i'm sure the guy would've loved to have jamed with you. You really have tasteful playing. haha i actually stole a few of your licks! lol Thanks man i have a custom coupe 36. it's a great tube amp, very clean/w spring reverb. I've also got a fender G-DEC. I've checked all of my local shops including guitar center and no one has this guitar to play. but i've made up my mind i'm getting one! when i do i'll post a song or two. Thanks man Rick
@Rickyyy001 Wow, Rick, you find some of my licks of an interest and worth spending time on! I am really flattered and feeling really great about it. Thank you Man, that's amazingly encouraging. As per Godin Guitars, they are of a high quality indeed, however please do not be disappointed by their factory setup, which shell be adjusted in the store usually free of charge with the purchase of the guitar. I am looking forward to seeing your videos with your new toy :)
@AlexSeverinetsJazz haha it's funny you should say that. i went to my local shop today and played one. The only bad thing i could pick out about it was the factory set up. I'm actually purchasing one tomarrow. i'm getting the grand concert SA. i'll be sure to post a vid when i get it all dialed inn! thanks again Alex keep swingin my man!
@Rickyyy001 Thanks Man, I definitely will. By the way, Grand Concert SA has a deeper voice to my understanding, since it is closer to the proper classical guitar. I am sure you will love it. And if you connect it to a guitar synthesizer, you will be amazed how fast those Godins track.
HEy man that was awesome! Very Joe Passey. haha I was wondering i'm actually interested in getting that same guitar. Is that guitar worth it and do i need an acoustic amp to really get a good sound out of it or would a regular tube amp do the trick. Thank you so much man
Hi Rick, thank you very much for your interest to my playing and your kind words. Joe Pass is a great hero of mine and if I could absorb just a tiny bit of what the guy was capable of, my life was not spent in vain. As per your question: this guitar really rocks. I will never sell it, even if I need to starve. When I got it I used tube amp and it sounded great. However, AER Compact 60 is by far the best acoustic amp to my understanding, quite expensive though, but is worth every penny spent.
Fantastic video, you're interpretation is admirable. I'm just getting into jazz now in college after playing a little classical years ago and pop and blues for the last few. Do you perform you're works for a live audience or only youtube?
@bsuth301 Thank you very much, I really appreciate your kind words about my playing. As per you question I do perform indeed in the Greater Toronto Area here in Ontario Canada from time to time, it depends on a lot of variables though, you know, kids, family life and work. It is always great pleasure of mine to play in front of people since nothing can substitute that experience. And it really does not matter if it is a large crowd or just one person.
@MikeYousman Hi Mike, thank you very much for your compliment. I use a high end acoustic amplifier that is AER Compact 60, plus I was close to the camera. This guitar sounds acoustically quite loudly, so I guess youve got both sources of sound in that mixture.
Thank you for your kindness and support. Godin guitars are incredible indeed. I love their Multiac series. Congratulations on your excellent purchase!
Well, both Godin and Carvin are great guitars. However, I have only experience with Godin since Carvin you need to custom order and they are not available in stores. I can highly speak about Godin hence I have three of their signature models and love those guitars. It would be interesting to compare them to Carvin, just for the sake of interest though.
Thank you very much for the kind words. As per your questions:
1)The intonation on this guitar is set right by the factory and it is great since it is a nylon string guitar that normally allows more tolerance in that respect. the action can be adjusted hence the construction of the guitar is a bolt on neck design.
2) You are right, I use finger nails, but very short ones since I stopped my classical guitar training a while ago and those nails are more in a rudimentary stage now.
Absolutely beautiful! Hopefully someday I will be able to play like you =)

Thanks for the info. Just curious...
Have you looked into the Carvin Ns-1? Any thoughts. I'm between the Godin slim and the Carvin Ns1.
I don't care about synth, just a good jazz sound and intonation.

Hows the intonation on that guitar?
Are you using nails or the tips of your fingers?
