I think more importantly, the US wanted to set up a pro West/anti OPEC Iraq, in where cheap Iraqi oil would be able to flood the market forcing other OPEC countries to do the same, which would then drive down the price of oil and would hurt OPEC in the long run. It is quite obvious that Bush and his buddies invaded for their own purposes. Please note that the "rebuilding" of Iraq is privatized and that many of the companies won the contracts with no bid. Everything happening in Iraq is directly the fault of Sadam Hussein and his bloody regime. We always knew it was going to be a mess like this to get rid of his murderous ass. This is all his fault and the fault of the Iraqis who never stood up to him. Where was the insurgency in Sadam's times...to much of pussies to do anything about him! He would have killed the entire family of anyone who looked at him the wrong way...

No...It's directly the fault of the US and its coalition partners. Most of the people doing the bombing are not Iraqi's but fanatics from across the muslim world who want to hit at the Americans and their efforts to 'democratise' Iraq. Good job America, the world is a much more dangerous place thanks to GWB.

Why does the US have to police every regime gone wrong? Who are we to decide who should be in power around the world?
It is quite obvious that Bush and his buddies invaded for their own purposes. Please note that the "rebuilding" of Iraq is privatized and that many of the companies won the contracts with no bid. Many of those companies have ties to the Bush family, and Cheney. of course there is the oil question as well.

But American people don't want to hear the truth. The media tells them the war is going bad. And everyone else says the media is putting a negative "spin" on everything. So it keeps the average american confused as to what is going on. Iraqi people need to step up and EVERY time they see a news camera. Tell it how it is. Don't pander to an american camera crews.. tell the truth each and every time you see a camera stuck in your face. EVENTUALLY america will get it.

They do not directl mention them but they do interview people who mention that security is the main problem there. It doesn't clarify but I'm more than positive that they're mentioning the insurgance who have come to Iraq from other countries and are killing civilians and doing suicide bombings in public areas.
But it is our DUTY to rebuild the country and not let them leave in such horrible conditions. They are an oil rich country and yet they cant seem to get any fuel? Whats up with that?

All i can say, is that i grew up when sadam took over kawait. I was in middle of war. And although i was living in a somewat safe area. Just havin the idea of a bomb hittin you isn't right. So jetta it isn't about suicide bombers. The question is what is causeing that? Ofcourse the ppl who are in this country that doesn't belong. Feel sorry for the Iraqi ppl

There's more too Iraq then what we are being told... The death toll speaks for its self. I feel bad for the Iraq people.. Even more so for the kids. having to grow up in a middle of a war.:( None of us americans had to grow up in a war.. so we wouldn't really understand.

I am not sure the average American realizes the enormity of destruction their country has wreaked upon Iraq. Do you honestly believe they are better off now? What is wrong with you people? Perhaps a WMD check and regime change are in order for the USA. By the way, NOBODY wants american-style democracy and freedom. NOBODY hates you for your "freedoms". If you feel hated, believe me, it's not because of that.

Blasted, you sound more rational than most. But in the beginning, almost EVERYBODY in the US was keen on attacking Iraq, even though it was obvious that Saddam had nothing to do with anything. (Yes, he was a bad guy, but so what. The world is full of bad guys, you can't attack everyone). It is only because the Iraq war has not gone favorably that american citizens are now bothered.

Yes, in the beginning we were behind it because we got fed lies about WMD and terrorists there. Until later is when we found out about the oil and bushs personal agenda. Im not the only one in the United States that thinks this way, a lot of us do.

The lies about WMD were told to the whole world, not just to you. Why is it so many other countries were able to see it as B.S., but that you were not? Can no one make the distinction between patriotism and nationalism? I know that the vast majority of U.S. citizens are good people. Not great readers, but good people. But unfortunately they also believe that their lives are worth more than those in the Middle East. I sincerely hope this mentality does not mean a repeat of the Iraq debacle.

So, the "bright" thing to do is to ignore what iraqis say and settle into a permanent occupation, because the iraqis dont know anything?
The neocons still believe this and that the iraqs will learn to "like us" if we just stay longer. All of the problems there stem from a lack of respect for the iraqi's feelings.
