$500 (which includes first shipment of semen for artificial insemination). We've not stood him at stud to the public until this year. We've had his semen tested for motility and shipping and it's EXCELLENT. He's in Ft. Worth, TX.
What a wonderful gift to have twins! Do people watching this understand how rare that it? Ususally one is pinched when first discovered as it can be so dangerous to foals and mares. Bless you for allowing both their chance! How are they each doing now?
I still have these pretty girls, but they are for sale. Just want to be SURE to find the right buyer. Money isn't the issue, but an EXCELLENT HOME IS. : ) I have other videos of the girls (updated ones) on YouTube. I think you can find them by going to my "other videos". Send me an e-mail if not, and I will provide you the links. I have about 3-4 videos of the twins on YouTube.
Actually, not a hand full at all ... they are VERY sweet and pretty easy to work with. Their momma (Angells Essence) is up at Dick & Christine's place (Toskhara Arabians), bred again to one of their stallions.
i am so jealous, and they love each other, AHHH. i am praying now for my own healthy pair of arab twins next year heehee, wishful thinking anyways :-P
Certainly not something a breeder usually wants to see. Had we known she was carrying twins, we would have had one pinched off right away, but she didn't show signs of twinning until too later in the pregnancy. They're not always detectable. We were VERY fortunate that this mare carried the twins just right in-utero, and delivered one right behind the other, as opposed to one on top of the other, etc. It was a relatively uncomplicated delivery, but this is DEFINITELY the exception to twins.
I understand what you were saying, and I added in the strain of the actual delivery ... horses usually have one or both foals die (when they are twins), and often the owner will lose the mare as well. We were very fortunate in more ways than one.
I might get a QH mare for my birthday (July 23), and I was going to breed her. Can you give me some tips on breeding, pregnancy, delivery, and followups?
Since you don't know anything about breeding, don't even consider doing it right now. It's a very costly process. You mention that this horse will be a gift, can't you afford to buy and board? What if your new horse goes lame? Will you still love and keep it? Owning an animal (any animal) is a HUGE responsibility. Minors aren't capable of supporting a pet of this magnitude, and you sound like a minor. I hope you make the most responsible decision.
that is the most beautifull thing i have ever seen twin babh horses, woow what a proud mama and a very proud owner u guys must be. i pray they never will be separated.and best of health to them for life.best show babies.
Actually, they are halter trained. : ) The momma kept getting in the way of the video-taping, so we had one person hold the mare, while someone else got the kids 'moving' ... which made for a nicer video of the twins (not blocked by their momma). : )
The black filly is Angells Psycret (aka Secret), and the bay filly is Psynt By Angells (aka Stella). They are named after a combination of their sire and dam ... Angells Essence and Psylebrty of Fame. : )
I too am hopeful that they will be bought together, but it's moreso important to me that a someone that will spend lots of time with one of them and has interest in showing Arabians will buy one of them, then I'll probably be keeping the other. : )
oh wow. twins.

What? I was saying its a strain from double the weight, double the care, and two hungry mouths to nurse.
