i seem to have CLUMPS or a of rash of "coincidences" real heavy for a few months then dissapear ( this last time they wer gone for a few years ) then i started having a few a day to now several 6,7, maybe 10 (SOME meaningless ones )a day ,& some BIGGER 1s to connect a conversation from a few days ago to me actually (by chance?) turning my car around in the parking lot of the place we wer conversating about (lost & far from home)
it is not jibberish my friend, i know where your at right now. you need to break free from the box, i know it sounds crazy but try your best to free your mind and relate to him.
How many moments are there no coincidences? How many things are there that could be coincidences? If coincidences were somehow ordained by the individual, then why aren't they more frequent and consistent?
@CatharticWeek THEY arent constant for me / i seem to have CLUMPS or a of rash of them real heavy for a few months then dissapear ( this last time they wer gone for a few years ) then i started having a few a day to now several 6,7, maybe 10 (SOME meaningless ones )a day ,& some BIGGER 1s to connect a conversation from a few days ago to me actually (by chance?) turning my car around in the parking lot of the place we wer conversating about (lost & far from home)
@ChronMan24 But the events that follow will be reflections of the actions you took to get there. And when you let go of the right thing to let go of, and hold on to the right thing to hold on, you find yourself on a free ride with the who Universe behind you.
It only seems that way because every culture due to the flock mentality nurture what's considered a normal yet unnatural and apprehensive sort of process of thought that is counter intuitive. When this behavior leads to a positive end of even a small measure it seems so out of the norm that it's considered sometimes paranormal or out of character or out of another place when really it's rooted in natural behavior.
im so confused cause i just read like 5 things that say andrew wk is like a million different people or hes like not real or something...but how is there shit like this on here? he looks the same to me all the time...
yeah, it is so silly. people can gain weight and loose it. he was always a skinny kid, you can see those pictures. And he doesnt have a raspy voice cause he doesnt scream any more. lord people, give up with your sillyness..
Its so funny because I was just talking with my boyfriend last night about coincidences and how they are truely not coincidental. ex. dreams and de ja vu....that perhaps there is alot more than simple de ja vu involved.
@nilquiddity no, the camera man is doing that on purpose. it adds another "medium" or "dimension" for lack of better words. it fits right along with what he is saying. which is incredibly intelligent stuff.
you don't know how smart that makes me feel. I thought he came off as a little subdued in his descriptions. try listening to terrence mkenna some time, he mostly talks about this stuff from a drug use perspective.
the reason you guys think it's hard to explain is because he's speaking really psychologically and like he said. he's got no plans for the lecture, it's all coming out one by one. he's no public speaker, just a party-er =)
um...no. but he is just speaking a truth. i was about to say obvious truth, but i dont know if everyone thinks that way. but def a high five for WK! he may not be the most brilliant guy, but he knows wuts up.
by the way the "topic" of the lecture is hey i'm famous so the regurgitated crap i say is meaningful, if this is amazing to you, take one philosophy course at your local community college, it will blow your friggin' mind.
Wow, pull the stick out of your ass. We apologize that we aren't all as philosophically "sound" as you. I watched the video and I happened to enjoy what Andrew WK was saying, and I couldn't care less what you think. Perhaps you can grace us with some of your amazing thoughts and ideas, since you want to convince us that you know so much more. Oh, never mind, you closed your account. wimp.
You're one of those college-know-it-all-hippies aren't you? You're ordinary and boring. Andrew W.K. is talented and enjoyable. You could go to any college and learn the same shit, but andrew goes and does something that wont be the same as a fucking college. So shut up and go learn something a million other people know.
I didn't make the argument, you are. And the guy said something totally disrespectful. I just shot back at him. And by the way, your insults are prime. I'm a fag, communist, nazi... Good combo. And by the way, did you read the comment i replied to, he's the nazi. I trashed the dude because he was trashing Andrew for speaking his mind.
reading the list of comments on this page reflects the truly uneducated nature of the pop culture consumerists that comprise the vast majority of this country, study philosophy, read a damn book, this guy is just regurgitating bits of buddism, existentialism, it's simple post modernist thinking, which is why the snotty NYU audience barely applauds his "ideas".
This supports my theory that most "entertainers" have a sizable margin of realization between that which they cater with, and their "core person". This however, is untenable with me. I can't do this to people without being honest. I've been playing and singing for 38 years.
My conscience won't allow patronization on a visceral level if I'm harboring my intellect without sharing it in my music.
I first saw this noting that Roy Clark could play Paganini on violin while saying "aw shucks".
I wish I could've gone to one of these. I'd love to facilitate open and honest discussions about things like coincidence and perception at school sometime. I just don't know if anyone would care.
There are chance events that occur. When anyone thinks that they create their own reality, that thought is immediately dashed when someone else taps you on your shoulder and contributes to your reality apart from your willing or wanting it.
Andrew, I'm reading a book right now called "The Way of Zen" by Alan Watts. Based on what you're talking about in this lecture, I think you might dig it.

@CatharticWeek we can only manipulate ourselves based on the events surrounding us.
