  • Translation (2/2) 4. Immerse the pan into cold water. 5. Pour caramel into cake tin. Coat the bottom, leave to cool till hard. 6. Cut pie sheets to size. 7. Bake at 200 degC for 20-30 minutes. 8. Apply salted butter on sides of cake tin & caramel. 9. Arrange cut apples in tin, try not to leave gaps. 10. Cover with 300g granulated sugar. 11. Bake at 180 degC for 70 min. 12. Leave the cooked pie sheet on top of apples for a while. 13. Flip the tin over. 14. Serve warm and decorate as you like.

  • i think i got diabetes from watching all that sugar being poured onto the apples. definitely too much sugar for my taste, and it would mask the natural sweetness and flavor of the apple.

  • @nishnishchan if you have ever eaten tarte tatin before, that's is about how much sugar that goes in it.

  • @chenxiaozhu123456789 i've never had it before unfortunately. i'm sure it tastes good, but seeing how much sugar going into it is a bit overwhelming. but apple cake is one of my favorite desserts (i make it all the time), and for me, the charm is having the natural sweetness of the apple be the main flavor. i only use 1/2 cup of sugar in my recipe.

  • @nishnishchan yep it's pretty crazy, most people would underestimate the amount of sugar that goes into it.

  • burnt sugar. thats definitely too dark.
