Comments saying that rotties should be banned are nonsense. Its a way of saying, "i dont know how to take care of my rottweiler" simple as that. @thegunguy1911 Hi first of all let me ask you why you want a rottweiler? A breed must match u. your lifestyle, budget, and time.. I do not suggest to anyone a rottweiler as a first dog - a good code of ethics breeder will not even sell you a pup... U need to do a ton of research before getting a rottweiler or any breed.. Go to my blog and read "so you want a rottweiler"... Also do you own a home? If not it is extremely difficult to find a place to live with a large dog let alone a rottweiler?
@choppergirlJune I have owned a German shepard and a Boxer and i have really always wanted one because every single one i have ever come across have been the best and nicest dogs ever. i wanted a Rottie because it is such a wonderfull breed that i have always admired. my backyard is big, we live beside a park and it fits our budget.

@thumsupformyusername Excellent! How a dog is with strangers all has to do with you. A dog is a reflection of its owner- period. A rottie needs an owner that understands working breeds (owned one previously) & also must be well versed in training. A rottie is not for everyone.. I do NOT recommend a rottweiler as a first dog!! U must research breeds and find one that matches u & understand they are commitment for LIFE! Right now there are more homeless dogs than ever! Also do you own a home?
@choppergirlJune Good advice. I loved my rottie (had him for almost 13 years) but I would not get another one. Not because they aren't great dogs, but because I don't have the time to commit to a new rott. They need lots of exercise but often won't do it on their own like some breeds. They need lots of training and a strong pack leader. If you let them lead the pack, that's when they can become defensive of their property/pack (you) and aggressive to outsiders. RIP Caesar.
i agree with choppergirlJune 90% i'm 19 and own my first dog (not as a family) be prepared to deal with them eating a ton of food. my rottie is 4 and a half months already 41.6lbs!! when i first got him, he would attack anything that moved. thats what happens getting a rescue puppy. but now we go on walks and he will sit till he is told its ok to see the other dog or person. its a ton of work but so worth it to know i took a dog, scary by society, and made him very loving.
@thumsupformyusername Rotties need lots of discipline, training and exercise. You need to socialize them ASAP. We had one for ten years (died of cancer last year) and we miss him terribly. The entire neighborhood knew and loved our Leo. They need to know you are boss and are there for them and they will do great. They are great family dogs and are really great with children IF you do your part with the training/exercise "thing." Once you get a rottie, you won't want another breed ever agin.

All I know is when its her time it wont get any easier, but my only wish is that when its my time I get them back!!! We give a part of ourselves everytime one of them has to go on a journey!
@o0prodigy4110o I know what you are saying. I lost my rottie, Chief, to cancer last year and it was heartbreaking. When I said goodbye to him, I said 'goodbye, my guradian angel." I truly believe that is what he is now. I also truly believe that you will get them back when it is your time.
I love rottweilers! My friend as a kid had a lovely one who was like 180lbs and a big sweetheart. He would climb up and try to LAY on you, lol. And kiss your face. :) So gentle too. Her mom was a trainer and used to work with breeders so she was very knowledgeable and trained him well. She would always tell us to be careful when running in the yard and not to scream because like many big dogs, yes they do have a higher prey drive, but no that did not mean he was vicious or "bad".

I will never ever get a dog if there is any doubt in me being unable to care for it so that is why I'm gonna wait so I can have a mill or 5 on my account and take a new education without needing to worry about money and then finally get a job at home with my trusty rottie at my side ;)
I've heard that many Rottweilers at age lose mental capability and start getting angry even at their owners so that they have to be put to sleep. If I remember correctly the speed of the brain growing some day passes the maximum capacity of the skull which leads to damage. Is there anything true about it?
@Elodren That's not Rottweilers that's Dobermans. And that's true, they go "crazy" because their skulls are so narrow and start to squish their brain as it grows too big.
@Elodren --Absolutely not true!!! I have three Rotties and all of them (and others i have met) can just be very vocal. My oldest is 7, mellow as Bob Marley and loving. And the other two are just excitable. I've heard that skull story thing about pits but that crap too. They are not bad dogs, usually bad or misinformed owners! Don't judge a dog by his breed.
awww :D i was smiling along with the rottie.. we got a new rottie 3 days ago as my other one got put down.. now i hav to train it agen... xDD how did u teach it tht.. goshh xDDD sooo cute :)
Ha! I've a rottweiler/northern inuit cross, he does the exact same thing. Same motions, and actions. I always wondered what breed in him made him do that, Oz is a beautiful dog.
Oh I've a vid on my channel if you want to see my dog.
@MeaghanEdwards i get excited when I go for a walk too ! ..I just have to learn to smell the female butts and leave the males alone . That german sheppard didn't like my cold nose yesterday
@elkotazo these dogs are awesome loyal dogs... they can do some damage though if trained poorly they are very strong...but to their owners... loyal as they come... these dogs are awesome :D i love them so much people are going to be dumb and nervous... as long as BSL doesnt tell me I cant have one who cares... :D people should meet them though they are awesome. A person we know had the best one ever but someone broke in and ws going through some drawers bent over and the dog bit
omg soooo cute!!!! i love how he was so excited that he was barking and trying to get you to go. so smily! i have a rottie and she does the same thing. soooo cute!!!!

If I remember correctly the speed of the brain growing some day passes the maximum capacity of the skull which leads to damage. Is there anything true about it?
Elodren 4 months ago
@Elodren That's not Rottweilers that's Dobermans. And that's true, they go "crazy" because their skulls are so narrow and start to squish their brain as it grows too big.
RoboKimmy 4 months ago
@Elodren --Absolutely not true!!! I have three Rotties and all of them (and others i have met) can just be very vocal. My oldest is 7, mellow as Bob Marley and loving. And the other two are just excitable. I've heard that skull story thing about pits but that crap too. They are not bad dogs, usually bad or misinformed owners! Don't judge a dog by his breed.

Ha! I've a rottweiler/northern inuit cross, he does the exact same thing. Same motions, and actions. I always wondered what breed in him made him do that, Oz is a beautiful dog.
Oh I've a vid on my channel if you want to see my dog.

If the girl in this video is trying to say "dime", which is Spanish for "tell me", it's pronounced "DEE-MAY", not "DEE-MEE", lol.
wilb6657 5 months ago
@wilb6657 it is pronounced deemee in Italian. Thanks!
