Been keeping pretty quiet about Chartjackers up until now - but now I'm terrified the single will bomb and so I've just sent an email of their YouTube page to all my friends.
Hoping that will get us some extra support...ooh! Crunch time!
OMG today I was walking past this global radio with a group of friends and just shouted Chartjackers!!!. lol couple of people turned around and we just walked past. Wounldnt mind doing that again if you'll need some help :))
i aggre with basschiik they should have of had every one sing the song in leister square!! so many people would have of joined in jus for the fun of it! lol it would have goten so much publicity too
Put out a callout and get all your fans in the area to come out and carry signs. You would have a least a few hundred people turn up and wave signs I reckon.
I can't believe that with 1000s of UK residents online backing your project, the Press stunt you come up with is the two of you with a megaphone. Get a meet up going, do something that'll get us on the news and in the papers.
There's no point hanging around radio stations. Make appointments, get a press pack explaining who you are and hammer home the Children in Need charity angle - that is the only thing that will make them listen.
What you should do is get as many people as you can to make the biggest CHARTJACKERS poster ever and stick all over LONDON and get even more people to sing it as loud as possible in leister square. WOOT
You'd think radios would want to support something that's for charity, the guys aren't doing it for personal gain it's for children in need and they've put such a lot of effort to get it all done
What's with the transparent setup? Radio1 IS BBC, so obviously you're going to "miraculously" get it on the air at some point. Aren't you supposed to have a massive fanbase? 5k views is shit.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The reality is... real life industries like Radio 1 etc. hate the internet, it has ruined the music industry, and the fact that BBC Switch aren't really supporting you guys, and the fact that the song probably sucks... all together.. just won't work. Yes you may have 14-17 year olds supporting you. but real musicians wouldn't give a fuck. The thing is ... Pudsey the bear is gonna make money anyways.. why don't you go to Africa if you really want to help, rather than sitting behind your desks.
hmm, reckon you could get the song on Spotify? 'cos that'd be an easy way to get the song flying around. Money generated from the ads could go to children in need too...
Dude, remove the double question mark from that comment and flex those influencive fingers of yours at that Macclesfield radio station.
After seeing this video, I myself honetly felt like the episode was a little more precarious than usual. I really feel as if they are beginning to hit stumbling blocks, and I fancy trying to help tem myself.
Come on Chartjackers! Is this going for christmas number one? Because It's about time that x-factor didnt get it, Its unfair that X-factor is taking the chance of a christmas song from alot of bands with a song that isnt even christmas-y...
The director of my theatre company is a radio producer on Clyde 2, I take the single to him, he plays it on Clyde 2, then on Clyde 1, then Forth, the Central FM and so on.
haha! this was hilarious. i'd never be brave enough to do that.
But I dont get it. Isn't this show being produced by the BBC? Why can't the Switch department just tell the Radio department to play the song? You're all one company, aren't you?
No chance of getting to number one. Not with Leona being released on the same week. She's going on X Factor to promote next week. Unfortunately, X Factor gets more viewers than Chartjackers.
alex is hilarious with his megaphone. jimmy with his polite protesting.
I really hope you guys can get more attention! I'm in the U.S., I know nothing about radio stations because, in my opinion, the all play terrible music. :P But is there anything I can do to get you some radio play here?
Just because it's made by the BBC, doesn't mean we get a free pass to get promoted by everything they own. The whole challenge is to get a number 1 on our own, without help; the BBC are merely documenting our progress.
I disagree. Given how set-up and scripted a lot of your shows for BBC Switch are, it feels like a BBC Switch project that they've asked you to take part in.
In that case, it seems bizarre that BBC Radio won't play the song.
What do you mean you disagree? I'm telling you what the truth is, as someone who's involved in the project and therefore knows honestly. As I said on BlogTV, the shows aren't scripted, we just work them out as we go, and they haven't helped us to get our song ahead in any way. They won't play the song because they're not helping us. It won't seem bizarre if you just see I'm telling you the truth xD
Alex, I understand what you're saying. (And I'm honestly not trying to be antagonistic.)
What I mean by set-up is, from what I've seen of the TV shows, it seems to be planned by the TV producers that "this week, we'll send you to meet Rav, the marketing guru" or "this week, we'll send you meet Charlie from Fightstar".
Where did the idea from the project come from ? Did it start off as a BBC idea for a good TV show ?
I know you're not, I don't mind talking about it :) While it's true that we were able to meet 'mentors' for advise, a lot of those mentors (Mike Stock, Chesney Hawkes and the music video guy I can't remember by name) just watched the show and got in touch. This is a requirement by the BBC to incorporate a regularity to the show, but aside from that, what we do is our own. The gig we held, the big BlogTV show, the protest, the song's recording ... all things we organised ourselves.
Furthermore, the red carpet premiere wasn't organised by the BBC either. Charlie is doing some unrelated work with Disney at the moment and we got the tickets through that, so it wasn't 'orchestrated' in any way.
As I said previously, the idea was collaborative. They firstly approached the four of us without an idea, just because they wanted to work with us. Then we worked together to develop and pitch it.
man that this is too loud u need louder lol, u need to get huge amount of people lol. like why not twitter it and facebook it so loads of people will turn up!!! lol.
