He was reasonably believable up to about 3:20 when he veers away from relating his experience as a POW and contrasting that with McCain. He goes off on standard Democrat talking points regarding McCain "pandering to his base". He then plays the "I'm disappointed " card, when earlier he made it clear that he had no respect for McCain back in the day. You can't be disappointed in someone you never admired. WRONG!!!! I'm not sure where this guy is coming from - He needs to listen to Captain Charlie Plumb - former POW who defies everything being said by this dude. Type in Captain Plumb and listen to the experience of the 200 POWs in the camp. Doctors have said the POWs are in better mental and physical shape than those who were not POWs - this guy is wrong! Most of the POWs went on to become doctors, teachers, senetors, admirals!!

That's right. Obama for US Diplomat to Palestine or Iran would be a better post for him. His murky past disqualifies him for the highest post in the country, and whoever votes for Obama is attracted to the idea of living on welfare rather than hard work.

Independent of his pre-imprisonment years, the guy went to hell and back in spite of having the opportunity of cutting it short if only he'd betray his fellow pow's.That is integrity and honor. He's also dedicated his life to serving his country. You may not agree w/ his point of view or like me w/ his reaching across the aisle, but the man is solid. His past, transparent (good or bad). It's his judgement what counts. Butler did not make his case in my view.

Obama has connections to the PLO? Who says? Rush Limbaugh? Come on. All those arguments have been debunked. And the cornball socialist/communist characterizations about Obama are complete malarkey since any type of tax system is by definition a redistribution of wealth. The question is: should the wealthy pay their fair share? I say they should. We've had enough of oil company subsidies and tax cuts for the wealthy, which John McCain now wants to make permenant.

And the quote you cited is no big threat. Speaking with a Marxist doesn't make him one. Ayers is not a close friend but merely served on the same bi-partisan education board that was chaired by a Republican.

Re-distribution of wealth, class warfare and big government (owning means of production) are all there. Lyklastsamurai: Your characterizations of Obama's plans and philosophy amounts to rhetorical talk points that are untrue. And in listening to the entirety of his comment to Joe the plumber, the part about spreading the wealth is in the context of his complete explanation, not an indication of a philosophy of communism. The only class warfare that has been waged is aganist the middle class by the wealthy, thanks to Bush's economic policies and tax cuts that John McCain wants to make permenant.

lyklastsamurai: The PLO accusation re: Khalidi is hardly definitive. Khalidi founded an organization that McCain helped raise funds for and also chaired. McCain is also a good friend of G. Gordon Liddy of Watergate fame. Liddy had plans to bomb the Brookings Institution. I guess that makes McCain guilty by association and therefore a terrorist sympathizer on both counts. Wright is no more radical than John Hagee or Ron Paisley, both of whom John McCain actively courted for endorsements.
