I play crysis 2 on the pc with an xbox 360 controller. for me it's better because i've been playing on an xbox since halo 1 came out and on xbox live since halo 2 did. Im just really good and comfortable with a controller. Put a mouse in my hands, you might as well have given me pillows. I am just another noob with a mouse, with a controller now we're talking.

ALL console games have atleast ONE of these (THIS INCLUDES MULTIPLAYER):

- Aim-assist

- Low to no-recoil

- More damage for weapon than their counterpart on computer

- Few height variations on the maps.

- Slower gameplay than on PC (UT3 is a VERY good example).

So you say that you are better at calculating time than distance? A controller is time-based, alone THAT makes it far more inaccurate and slow in the hands of humans.

@FlameFurious true.....i have a dillemma i wanted to ask you about....i am a console gamer and i cant afford a good enough pc to play anything over say counterstrike or cod4 plus most of my favorite games are on consoles only....if i think iv become pretty good with a controller and although can pick up a m and k immediatly (due to it being so intuitive), should i get an XIM3 for my consoles or is it not worth the money.

@FlameFurious i give you halo 1, huge recoil the exact same settings on pc for damage no aim assist the same slow halo based skilful game play, and as much as i agree pc controls are better, its easier to adapt to a controller, being able to adapt to things quickly is why mammals are alive today yet dinosaurs are not, i got 18 seconds after a week on the fng mission on cod 4 for pc, i got 15 after having the game since the beginning of this year just a month ago on xbox

Most FPS games on a console have auto-aim that is a FACT. It is far EASIER to react precisely and fast with a mouse than it is with any controller...

Only a console only gamer would say a controller is easier to aim and more precisely than a mouse.

I play both, and I usually much prefer consoles for online shooters. The fact that it's harder to aim/shoot makes it feel a little more realistic for me (just my opinion, and I usually turn off any aim-assist is there is an option to do so). With a mouse, it's just point and click 90% of the time, and you can pull a 180 in less than a millisecond (unrealistic, imo).

With that said, I do play on my PC more than my consoles.

@Texnux the only real plus to the stick is in more precise body movement (unless you have a joystick) on pc if you want to say, play a first person platformer, it would be inferior to that on consoles because you actually have to turn in the direction to get exact movements correct. on consoles you dont ever have to turn to get the exact degrees of direction....but, most of us play fps's and in those games...m+k is far, far superior.

@Texnux Ofc its easier to aim on PC, but i think sometimes its more fun playing FPS on console because all players use controllers, on most occasions u wont have to battle players who will one shot one every time u see them, it makes it more realistic. I prefer to play BF on Consoles then pc, when CS on the other hand is all about instant kill so u want to play it on pc, its a win/win situation..

You can get an adaptor to recognise 360 controllers or use a wired one with a peice of software and configure the buttons with a small program.
