I play the clarinet. I was following the clarinet part as he was conducting in this video. It struck me how incredibly accurate Tan Dun was with his exact cues, visual phrases and overall impression on the viewer. Tan expresses his joy with this piece through his conducting and is able to communicate his emotions to the viewer. This was really helpful! Thanks! : )
