You have to admit. For a made-for-tv movie in 1985, this is bad-ass. I'm 26 and the Jabberwocky is still terrifying. Thanks so much for uploading this!!
Man those two queens just caused the most scariest problems, didn't they ever do anything that didn't lead to a scene that scared us outta our SKULLS!?
i hate this version, its like someone read Alice in wonderland and through the looking glass a long time ago while they were drunk and tried to remember how it went
Alice is suppose to ring the "servant's bell" or "visitor's bell" before she enters the door. Also, the Jabberwock never showed itself and was never ever mentioned in the ending of the original story. The white rabbit, mad hatter and the rest of the characters are not suppose to appear in this story also. This is not an accurate version of Alice's story to my disappointment.
Well, the Mad Hatter technically does appear, as "Hatta." Although there are many inaccuracies in this version, I don't believe having Wonderland characters as guests takes away from the accuracy. Also, I'm sure the producers wanted to bring together all the celebrities who had cameos in this film.
@LewisCarrollsAlice No it's not 100% accurate that is true. However from all the versions I have seen, this is the most true to the story from beginning to end.
The Jabberwocky also represents a disablity one may have that hurts others and drives them away--he is the monste within us that hurts others, and if others see that hurt they are driven away.
The Jabberocky to mean represented Alice's fear of feeling homesick and venturing off into the world to live on her own as a lady. She kept on wanting to go home because she could not face the reality that when she was a woman she would be living on her own without her family.
Being grown up means she would be living without her parents and not needing to be depended on her parents. The Jabberwocky was trying to teach her that if she didn't overcome her fear of not needing her family so much, she would always stay a little girl and be living at home.
Alice was not grown up as she still wanted to be at home, and being an adult one lives away from home and the Jabberwocky was teaching her that if you don't face up to fears of taking on the responsibilites of being an adult--you will always be stuck as a little girl or little boy.
White Rabbit seemed afraid and jittery in the beginning with his running and being afraid. But at the end, he seems to have grown and became very outgoing because Alice brought out the best in him.
Alice seemed to have brought out tbe best qualities in the characters of this movies.
The Jaberwocky represented her fear of not being able to mature and face her fears that she would have as mature young lady.
@happy7117 I noticed that too! Even how the queen of hearts became protective of Alice by physically moving in front of the girl and ordering her men to attack the jabberwocky XD!
interesting also how the jabberwocky goes from just walking to walking and flying and breathing fire--it's like he gets more menacing every time he makes an appearance...or is it just me? =)
The Jabberwocky was running out of patience with Alice when she kept summoning him because of her inner fear of never leaving home. The Jabberwocky wanted to be left alone. The Jabberwocky wanted to snap her into reality I think for a final time by driving his point home..
The Banquet Song is my favorite. It was taken directly from the poem in THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS by Lewis Carroll. This movie - and Part 1 Alice in Wonderland, was very faithful to the book and it was turned into a lovely musical. This is from around 1985 or 1986. I saw it on the Disney Channel. I love this movie
Do you happen to have backing music for the song alice and the white rabbit sing? thank you

Love the song from 1:42 - 3:45.
They certainly don't make series like this anymore.
This is epic.

@happy7117 Like my being mute when around people for example - I can talk fine when it's one on one - but in a group I tend to stay silent.
