What I love most about this, is that people on Teh Internet are trying to interpretate the philosophy of this monologue, without irony.
None of them consider it just the mad ramblings of a demented talking gingerbread man wearing one boot and has a bird and squirrel attached to his hands and says this monologue without context or reason.

The Royal Tart Toter is referring to life in society as a dance, one that pulls us, the dancers along with it, sometimes against our will. Our ties to others consist of withheld permissions - our friends can send us messages and expect a response, and a girlfriend can expect a boyfriend to pay for dates.
He sees the dance, and he has chooses not to join in.
