And, no, linguistics is not rocket science, in many cases, it can be far more difficult and tedious, because linguistics is quite a varied science, whereas rocket science is fairly singular in its approach to propulsion mechanics. It either goes, or explodes. I never understood how people could think rocket science was a justifiable comparative to difficulty of comprehension.

Just because a people is sensitive to something, doesn't mean YOU have to follow that trend...I'm from 'the south' but I do not speak like it, yet people still refer to me and everyone that lives around me as rednecks. At the same time, I highly doubt anyone on the Jackass cast would have opted to swallow a wrench, I mean, yeah, they do stupid things, but swallowing a wrench? That's a whole new level of stupid.
