  • It's people with courage who change the way people see the world.

  • Fabulous :)

  • There are few recorded cases of wild orcas threatening humans; none of these have been fatal.. all fatal attacks have happened in captivity... in norway they have trips in the winter for people who want to swim with these fantastic creatures.

  • stunning :) the other tourists missed out ALOT.

  • 4:20 - 4:40 : "should we eat him?" "Ah I don't know whatta you think?" "I think we should maybe eat him" I'm not really hungry though" "Alright then".

  • I feel like mammals that live in the ocean, i'e: whales, orca's, porpoise, understand that they are weightless in water whereas fish don't. I can think of any species of fish that simply play in the water, not off the top of my head anyway. Does this make sense to anyone?

  • I wish you could take the awful music off, so we could hear the animals.

  • beautiful! i wouldn't have jumped in the water while there was a calf there, but i guess they were cool with it! (:

  • What balls….

  • you are the luckiest person in the world i want to become a marine biologist because i want to study aand swim with a whale soon idc f they kill me i love them atleast i will know i died in piece inthe water with a orca :)

  • @bbykaitie I feel the same exact way

  • @theringer1217 :) really?

  • @bbykaitie Yea, I'm going to plan a trip out to the west coast to swim with them eventually. I'd love to be a marine biologist, but I don't know where I would end up. They wouldn't kill you if you swam with them though; there is not one recorded incident of an orca whale attacking a human in nature.

  • @theringer1217 same here but i feel too dumb to be a marine biologist. ://

  • @theringer1217 is it not recorded b/c those who were eaten by orcas didn't live to tell their tale?

  • @beautifulstar33 The people who were "eaten" by orcas would be missing then..and I'd imagine someone would look for them. They don't prey on humans because it is not apart of their diet and they understand the difference between prey and humans. Echolocation has a lot to do with that.

  • @theringer1217 what exactly is echolocation in reference to their diets and us not beign part of it? How come sharks eat us sometimes then?

  • @beautifulstar33 because echo location is how they sense what is around them. Think of it as ultrasound waves as sight for a dolphin..orcas are dolphins and have that. Sharks are not of the same family, but some do have similar adaptations.

  • You know you got more chance surviving a pod of orca than a gang of people. These are what make the planet special not a tank full of artificial water and fake behaviours they like to call "tricks". If you love orca you wouldn't go to see them in sea world. They can't offer them the beautiful life they have in the wild. This is how they are meant to live. Please don't take these AMAZING animals away! Or you will be taking apart of Earth away.

  • whats the song?

  • Great video!Orcas are ameizing!

I love them so much and i pray one day to have the luck to meat one in the Ocean, cos i ll never ever visit Sea aquariums!

Why people are so selfish and make them suffer so badly for their pockets..its not fair.Captivity have to end or we gona lose this beautifule creatures and many others too:(

  • I was with a tour guide but I didn't ask for permission. Once i dived in everyone on the boat screamed...obviously they missed all the fun

  • @jameslal I dont usually leave comments but I felt I just had to tell you this video is completely stunning and your choice of music is very fitting an beatiful, it enhances the video rather than spoiling it which some do. Fantastic work and I shall look out for more like this A+++

  • @jameslal did u really gfo inside the water with these orcas? If so, did they try to come after u? It must have been scary.

  • Were you in a boat of your own or with a tour guide? I'm just curious if you were with a tour guide and if you needed permission to get in the water or they pretty much just said, "Go for it." XD

  • Oh, I envy you.

  • 7 killer whales swam up the Derwent River in Tasmania Australia a month back. First time I can recall ever. Went up as far a just off Taroona beach.

  • This must be such an awesome experience you had all seem so relaxed and happy to be near you, your so lucky hopefully I will get to experience this one day.

  • @KillerWhaleResearch yes I am swimming with them. I jumped off the small boat at 1:56 in the video to join them in the water. One of the most incredible experiences of my life. Glad I had my underwater video camera with me a the time.

  • @jameslal were you at all intimidated or freaked out? they're my favorite animals but my heart would be racing being in the water with these powerful animals.

  • @jameslal you are so lucky!! I love these animals, ever since I was four but never had the luck to see one in real. I'm sooo freaking jealous!!!

  • @jameslal weren't u scard that theyd attack u?

  • @jameslal sss ooooo LUCKY I LOVE THESE ANIMALS they are so Beautiful I would love to do something like this where can I swim with them in the wild like that?

  • 1:20

  • Does swimming regularly make you grow taller?

  • Beautiful pictures, better than those that are seen Marineland. However, do not develop this type of tourism.

Moreover, the fact of feeding wild animals is not to serve them ... the contrary.

Take the habit of respect and let nature without man intervenes systematically ...

  • They're very quiet, aren't they? I wonder why they aren't vocalizing as much (from what I can tell, the audio from the recording is included in this upload).

  • @S0XF0X the music overlay cut most of it out. they were talking the whole time. you can hear them at the end of the video when the music ends

  • I love them! You are so brave, i think i would be frightened that they would go for me!! beautiful piece of film

  • it beter if the dolphins are in wild not in cathty

  • That is AWESOME, Im going there next month I hope I am that lucky

  • you have right look the cove i really hate japan. Nice video!!!!

  • i loves killerwhales i find het very sed that in japan they killing whales only japan this beautiful anmilas an nobody help them that make onhappy. Is ther nobody in the worls ho want to help this beatiful whales from japan they alsoo kill 20000 dolphins each year.thank you for this video respect!!!

  • OMG!!! i can't believe this video! its AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm so so so so jealous (in a good way) this are my fav animals!

  • May I asked what cameras/equipment you used? Were you actually in the water with them?h

  • beautiful, i would rather study them in the wild. i love these animals and just seeing them free swimming wherever for miles and miles is way better than seein them in captivity. i thought i wanted to be an orca trainer but its just better for them to let em free!

  • omg i would be freaking out but i luv killer whales, i would luv to have that experience with them.

  • Absolutely amazing video! This is how Orcas should be seen, in the wild and NOT in a tank!

  • Comment removed

  • could you give me the name of this song please??

  • @SuperBabyrich I think the song is called "Beyond The Invisible" by Enigma

  • @nighthoverer Thank you soo much!

  • DAM NATURE U......BEAUTIFUL

  • It wouldn't be natural for them to attack us aye? smart animals =)

  • i have one question...weren't you scared? at all?? i mean i love orcas more than anything....but still....if i was in there i would be scared to hell during the first few minutes... especially when they seem interested in me a little bit too much and circling me!!!!!

  • They are not hurting the cameraman and he's quite happy filming it! So his presence doesn't seem to be a threat!

  • Wow, just beautiful. They seemed so friendly and calm.

That´s the way they should life, not in captity!!

Thank you for this amazing video!

  • WOW. You got close. That one pair seems pretty interested in you. Is that a calf and mother, or just a juvenile and an adult? Two adults? Are they actually different members of the group?

  • incredible

  • ecuador my beautiful country , tanks for this video .

  • wow..amazing! thank you for sharing, what an experience!

  • awesome!!! i got to go whale watching and feed them they came real close. this is where they belong. sea world is abusing these creatures. they abused tilikum. he was not born in captivity they took him from his home. you should see what they do to them when they get them. its horrible. now poor tilikum is in a tiny pool and this is only going to hurt him more. please free tilikum he wants to go home

  • @sachalhernandez no whale or dolphin captured can ever be successfully released to the wild, Like Keiko

  • @giannaluva I would recommend fact checking before making statements. How about looking up Bimbo the beluga whale? Or Joe and Rosie the dolphins, or the countless other successful releases? And Keiko was on the verge of breaking away, he spent five weeks without humans, feeding himself and travelling miles. Years in captivity made him unhealthy so he lost his pod, but if he'd lived longer he might have made it to total freedom. As it was he chose when to come and go for the last year of his life

  • @giannaluva65 Actually, Bimbo was a pilot whale, not a beluga. But my point is still the same (more so, really, since pilot whales share quite a few similarities with orcas).

  • @sachalhernandez

FACT: SeaWorld did not take Tilikum, they housed him after he was taken and given up by another company.

  • Would you be at all opposed to me using the Orca part of your footage for a video I want to make about wild Orcas? I would credit you, of course. ^^

  • WOW ! So much in the world I have yet to experience ! So Beautiful & free ! I would be scared to death being in the water with those huge Orcas, thats one brave person !

  • that world have been amazing, i am definatly going to that place at least once in my life!

  • This is cool,I went to Vancover a few years back, there really is nothing better so see them out in the wild.I wish I would of got to swim with them,ha I would have crapped my pants..I've always wanted to check out thoose islands though.

  • u can tell they are so much happier in their own habitat than to see them in a show its a whole different experience

  • Wow, what a beautiful experience! I will be going to the Galapagos some day.

This is how interaction with Orcas SHOULD be. A glass tank shouldn't be the only thing separating a human from one of the most beautiful marine animals in the world.

You shouldn't need to go to an amusement park just to see them when you can experience their true nature and divinity in their natural habitat. That was definately one stellar experience you had! Thanks for sharing this video!

  • I must say you have been gifted.. that is by far the most amazing thing I have ever seen.. RIP to sea world trainer.. I dont believe its the whales fault at all 1. they shouldnt be caged and 2. if your job is swimming with whales its a risk you have to be willing to take...

  • @HarrietKirton You're absolutely right. It was definately not the whale's fault. Tilikum was placed in a smaller holding tank because they were doing renovations. He was not used to the tank and was unfamiliar with it, from what I've heard reported. It has also been reported that she either slipped or fell into the tank...RIP Dawn...

FREE TILI!!! They definately should NOT be caged like that!!!

  • @angelqueen9989 she was in the slide out petting him and he grabbed her hair and sunk her under for 30 minutes. You cannot free a wild orca when its been in captivity they forget how to feed, remember keiko? would u want tilikum to show up dead on the shore? they are also too familiar with human interaction.

  • @giannaluva65 you are certainly right. I remember what happened to Keiko. I am not disagreeing with you, millions were spent to try to rehabilitate Keiko. And yes, you cannot free Tili, he's been at Seaworld since '92 if I'm not mistaken. But thanks for your insight anyways, I realized what would happen to him if they tried to do the same thing with him as they did with Keiko. He's a large wild orca nonetheless, and that can't be changed, even though he's in captivity. Thanks.

  • @angelqueen9989 They're not right. Keiko managed to feed himself, would leave and come back of his own choosing, and survived five weeks on his own, feeding himself. He lost his pod and so sought out human company, just as wild whales Luna and Springer did, out of a need for social interaction.

It's possible Tilly can't be freed, but it's worth trying, and if it is impossible a sea pen with no concrete walls and more natural stimulation is far better than being in a tank he can never leave.

  • @giannaluva65 Keiko learned to feed himself and survived five weeks on his own. He eventually died of pneumonia at around 27 (which was very old for an orca that has been captive, and approaching average age of death for wild male orcas). If he'd been younger or lived longer he might have become fully free. And even wild orcas separated from their pods seek out human company (look up Luna and Springer). It's lack of a pod and the need for a social life, not need for humans.

  • i know that now one of the trainers at seaworld in florida was killed by one of them i wish that they were freed their tanks are so small. i am sad

  • Aww, that one at 3:15 looked right at you!

  • Orcas... Amazing

  • this is incredible, you're lucky.

  • do you know what a blessed human being you are to have witnessed this!!

  • i have tears when i watch it! i love killer whales <33

  • and to

    ilovekillerwhales111

if you want to help killer whales ...free them dont ask for bigger tanks

    study them on the wild.

captivity is a problem not a an answer

  • YEAH

  • @hceeler

and if she wants to make a bigger tank, she must have a lot of money, because the tank must be compared with the size of the sea :P

  • @hceeler true!!!!!!!!

  • @hceeler

Is this an underwater camera--you are not IN the water with them correct?

    thanks would love to know

  • @evelutionofone yes I am swimming with them. I jumped off the small boat at 1:56 in the video to join them in the water. One of the most incredible experiences of my life. Glad I had my underwater video camera with me a the time.

  • @hceeler Very well said I agree with your comment study them in the wild its a totally incredible, awesome, experience seen them plenty of times out in BC and you get to see more behaviours than in captivity. Im anti-captivity never been to any marine land holding orcas, or dolphins for sixteen years and never plan to again just whale watching in the wild where they belong wild, free, and happy.

  • Omg I'm obsessed with them.. they're so beautiful... all whales are incredible.

  • so lucky! My goal is to swim with wild killer whales!

  • same here :D

  • orcas rule!! <3

    5/5 stars! =D

  • lucky sod lol

  • Lol, Thanks for replying to my last comment. I agree with you about making the shows educational. You said 'maybe i'll be working alongside you',, Are you a killer whale trainer, or hoping to be or anything. I added you..

    Please exept, xx

  • Absolutely gorgeous piece of film, well done and thanks for sharing. Beautiful to see them in their element and seeing their natural behaviour. They seemed to like you :)

Great clip and nice tune, saved to favs!

  • there beautifull, you should have tried to stroke them with you hand. but while filming that culd be difficult. youre one lucky basterd

  • OMG ,,

    they're so beautiful ,, !!! :)

  • yes they´re lovely

  • Hi ilovekillerwhales111 if you really want to help you will study them wild and free not make money from there imprisonment start avdocting for them reseach them in the wild creat a program to help reabilatate the capuered ones things like this good luck i love them too :)

  • king of the ozean

  • Don´t feed them!!

  • THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, completely mezmerizing. Thank you for posting. So wonderful to see them in the wild.

  • I nearly cried watching this, its my apsolute dream to be a killer whale trainer. People will frown upon me for saying that because theyll say its cruel and I know it is. But I want to help make their lives happier as I do it, campagning for bigger pools and everything and do more reserach on their bent fins.

  • Also, campaign for them to make the shows educational again, like they used to be. :) Maybe i'll be working next to you, hopefully!

  • @ilovekillerwhales111

Bent fins are believed to be caused by the low water pressure in tanks because of lack of depth and since theyre always closer to the surface the heat can make it droop.

A good example of this is how in SW Florida ALL of the ORcas even females have lop sided fins, because its hotter. and swimming in circles and make it lean to one side also

23% of wild males have lopsided fins too btw so its not just captivity. The fins are very heavy, Tilikums weighs 200 pounds

  • @showcavs i can guarentee he weighs a whole lot more then 200 pounds! lol

  • @shamuroxy

LOL yea oops I guess I should have explained better, his fin alone is estimated to weigh 200 pounds

  • @showcavs This 23% stat is an isolated population instance, the 23% is actually only 7 Males out of which all have moderate to severe Dorsal damage due to bites and prop damage. Out of these 7 Orca only one has a flaccid dorsal to the degree the Captive Orca do. This is a blatant, manipulating lie Sea World uses to explain the big problem of their sickly looking Orca. This stat can easily be found and read from the NZ government report, photos are also included in the NZ report.

  • @ilovekillerwhales111 Larger tanks won't work. I am a marine biologist and i've been doing research on this theory with bent fins and I discovered that it is caused by low water pressure in the tank itself. If you want to save these brilliant and ancient creatures, we should release them. I've released 2 sharks and plenty of seals and otters. It's not easy releasing orcas however. Your young and I am proud of you for loving these whales but I recommend not increasing popularity to captive whales

  • that was absolutely amazing! :)

  • I like the music, it suits them. :)

  • Truely amazeing i dream to swim with wild orcas 8D

  • woow trade a life 4 an experience like that

incredible animals, really curious they stayed

    alot of time around

  • You are beyond lucky.

  • Free orcas are so majestic.

  • I think orcas are awsome animals!

  • i've done this before too, i wana do it again next summer. the first time i swam with these orcas i was fucking scared as shit lol i thought they were gona attack but they only attack people when they're provoked or threaten. nice video

  • why arent they attacking humans?

  • orcas don't attack humans unless their provoked stupid

  • is that a fact? i mean they are intelligent and humans can be very interesting , even the great white is interested in humans!

  • It's a very prominent scientific theory that orcas have a culture, which is why different pods specialise in different types of food, even though technically they could eat almost anything. This being the case, they wouldn't attack (or eat) people because people are not what they specialise in eating. Sharks are opportunistic and will often "attack" humans out of curiosity (they learn by biting) or mistaken identity - orcas are smarter, and so don't mistake us for their prey.

  • @nat365 yeah orcas are amazing

  • @Sakul1321

There has never been even 1 recorded attack by wild orcas on humans. Only in captivity.

And there are different orca groups that either only fish, only mammals, or big animals like whales and sharks

  • Awesome vid, cheers. Check out "Orca attack La Ernestina" I and II and III on youtube. These are such beautiful, special predators.

  • awesome video

    whats the song called?

  • Did you get the chance to touch one?

  • How gorgeous.

That must have been an amazing experience. Were you ecstatic when you swam with them? I would've been!

    Ty for putting it up.

  • Thank you so very much for sharing this

  • Beautiful animals! But If that was me? I would've crapped in my pants! lol

    Awesome video...Thanks for posting.

  • They are SO cute! Yet, I would be afraid anyway! Size for one thing! But they ARE cute!

  • Gentle Giants, they love to show off

  • WOW

  • Beautiful! I was born and raised in Ecuador and I must tell you that after watching this video I have fallen in love with the country of my birth all over again. Awesome footage...awesome images...awesome experience. It brought tears to my eyes.

Thank you very much for sharing.

  • amazing.. like amazing. haha.

  • you got so close!!!!!

  • How beautiful!!! It brings tears to my eyes!

  • You're so lucky, I'd give almost anything to be able to do that...

  • It almost seems as if they were protecting you from the ray. That's amazing!

  • Manta rays are completely harmless to anything larger than an inch...

  • Aww they are the ocean;s most beautiful

sea creature i cant understand for the life

of me why people would want to kill them

  • beautiful :)

  • ich liebe orcas..einfach nur geile tiere

  • Such amazing footage. Pleeease tell me the name of the song, it perfectly matched your video! :)

  • wow!rare.

  • so beautifuL animals

  • What a fantastic experience, although if I would probably freak out a bit lol.

  • whats the name of the song here

  • That is so amazing

  • wow, really nice , love orcas, in nature, not in some sea world zoo :) thank you for sharing :)

  • OMG im gonna soo be a killer whale trainer!!!

  • so lucky! how beautiful

  • wow! you are so lucky! i love orcas. they are beautiful and graceful creatures.

i would do anything to have an experience like that! really like the song you used too :)

  • Oh my gosh - you must be the luckiest person in the world! What a fantastic experience that must have been! I love how relaxed and curious they were toward you. :) This is how orcas should be - in the wild with their pods, not isolated in fish tanks and exploited for the sake of human entertainment.

  • u r so right they are not meant for human entertainment and they profit money off them almost most of the time

  • oh my god! you are so lucky. i would do absolutely ANYTHING for an experience like this! They truely are my favourite animal and possibly the most beautiful animal in the world. i love them

  • wow so pretty!

  • wasnt it scary? it would be coom though

  • I really loved this vid by the way, thank you for showing this!

  • WOW! Aren't Orcas dangerous to humans? If they can eat a seal just like that, we must be an appatising meal for them too. How come they left you alone like this?

  • They don't eat humans, they don't want to. They only eat what is natural for them and besides humans taste bad(proven fact).

  • hey just wondering what song you used for that. I really liked the vid

  • What a luvly lil film.

The Orcas were definately interested in your pressence in their realm. From this footage its easy to see how they resemble Dolphins etc in thier behaviour to perhaps unfamiliar objects in the water. Quite playfull it seems. What a contrast between this and thier hunting and killing techniques its as if you are looking at two different species of the same kind.

Lucky you to have had this experience a lasting memory.

    nice Video.

  • kool video

  • I love Orcas, and they doesn't deserve the latin or the english name. I prefer the swedish name (which i don't know how to write in english). And I would more or less kill to dive or snorcle with them! Well, i'm gonna studie at a place, and the third year they go to killer whale safari in Norway :D

  • Great video, it must have been amazing!

But why is the picture reddish?

    Which pod is this?

  • id love to be a killer whale

  • you are so lucky to swim with them. I would do ANYTHING to swim with orcas!! they are my favorite animal!!!! this is the best orca vid ive ever seen, 5 stars!!!! thank u soo much for making this!!!!!!!!

  • thanks so much never seen a group of killer whales swiming togther and u got some guts to be in the water with them

  • Comment removed

  • were u snorkling or scuba diving?

    amazing thnx 4 sharing!

u can hear thm sing at the end! :]

  • WOW! THANKS for making this beautiful special video!
