  • hi matthew, i can't see your strumming. Can you show me the pattern in terms of up, down, up, down. I'm a beginner so still struggle to figure your great song. Thanks :)

  • @karayess I did send you that link in a message, yes? Did you get it?

  • @matthewvaughan sorry for my late reply but I don't find any link in the message. could you send me again :D

  • Having been privy to the work of PP&M since the age of six via their live concerts, and although I was obviously unaware of it at the time,I recall when they were still 'road testing' this gem before committing it to vinyl. Little did I know the impact that it would have over the subsequent years...four generations gathering at their live showcases...some hearing it for the very first time,or some like myself, recapturing a moment in time. Your on the mark interpretation is appreciated.

  • @stewballmax3 Thanks a lot, Max. And thanks for watching. I always appreciate it and your informative comments.

  • Wish you were still here in Aussie land! From Hec.

  • Fantastic lesson.

Is there an easy way to learn Morningtown Ride (Rocking, rolling, riding, out along the bay...)?

    Philip

  • @philcrooks Yes! I've recorded it already, but my version might not be very clear – I don't remember. If you take a look at it and tell me how I could improve, I'll do a more educational take two for you, no problem.

  • Matthew i dont want to hinder your project in any way i am still enjoying listening to you and learning some of the songs from RUS but i wondered if you could help me with Puff, i cant figure out which chords i should be playing on the word honnalee can you help please?

  • @uknavynige Yes! I love requests. give me a few hours.

  • I wanted to sing this song as a kid. But it wasn't on the approved list or something. It starts off sounding all happy but ends on a sad note. Poor Puff! Peter, Paul and Mary pretty much have said the same as you regarding the theme.

  • i love this song i live in va and we have this grand parents thing and its when we sin a bunch of songs and this is one of our songs were singin by the way i love this song

  • Ah ha! that shirt is from Laos....you've been there, haven't you?

  • It is, and I have :) I live in Bangkok, so I've been over to Laos a couple of times. There's a video somewhere on my channel called "Bike Ride in Vientiane". You've been there, I take it?

  • your are really good looking, just so you know!

  • I'm a matter of taste like everybody, I think. But I'm flattered nonetheless. Have a sweet day, sweet anonymous commenter.

  • Thanks guys :)

  • Great one

  • Really well done, Matthew. Ciao, Marco.

  • "Ceiling wax" -- is that the opposite of floor wax?

    :-P

  • A little trick of the trade: they're the same thing! We just bottle up the floor wax, cross out 'floor', write in 'ceiling' and sell it for twice the price! ...Keep it under your hat, though.

  • @myfriendcallsmevinny

hahahaha! I used to think it was "Ceiling wax". I later figured out it was "Sealing Wax". Like the kind you use to seal an envelope

  • Continue to enjoy your journey through the "Rise Up Singing" Book!

  • Thanks a lot, Jim. So do I, when I'm not feeling behind on it.
