  • I just want to tell you thank you so much!!! I watched this video and your other about your acne problem and I have the same problems as you! I finally went to my doctor and told him everything going on and he put me on the medicine too. I didn't even tell him about you or the video. But just the idea of me maybe needing something more I cant get without a doctor has helped me so much! Thank you so much!

  • @JustChels11 aww you made my week. thank you so much. :) good luck!

  • quick question... why do you have to wait 2 hrs after eating to take the doxy? and also what is the reason for waiting 30min. to apply the retin a? Im curious b/c I recently got put on these things myself and I wasnt told any of this so im doing my own research. Thanks!

  • Thanks for sharing that's really awesome that's you found something that's working for you. I was lucking and never had acne issues on my face but for 2 years as a teenager I had minor break outs on my shoulders on upper back, I had to deal with that just like people deal with it on their face thank God it stopped and never came back but I always am looking to help any one I can refer from what I seen or heard about.

  • is the pills pricey? $

  • so are the pills the same as accutane?

  • @GlitzNGlamour15 i finished my course of accutane a yr ago. best decision i ever made :)

  • @GlitzNGlamour15 they are not the same. accutane is from vitamin A. doxycycline is an antobotic

  • @SleezyJay1 every night. the peeling will stop in a few weeks- meaning your skin will get used to it.

  • Hi, do you like the retin a gel or retin a micro better? Im on the .01% gel and I want to try the micro. Which of those 2 was stronger? Also, how is the Doxy working for you, are you still on it? I got a prescript for it, but havn't taken it because I'm worried about antibiotic resistance or have it stop working, don't wann be on it forever, don't want to ruin my good bacteria. How long were you on it? and did you flare up when you stopped? thanks!!

  • @AndreaJuliet hello :)

they retin-a micro is in a pump & comes in a 0.1% so there is not difference in strength. i like the micro because its just one pump for your entire face. they have rebates for the pump so make sure you use it. i stopped doxy after a few months of still getting deep, painful acne. i went on accutane & now only do the retin-a each night. you should not be on the antibiotic for a long period of time. you should start weening off after about 3 or 4 months.

  • you don't want to run the risk of getting colitis or chrohn's disease. if you are worried about runing your good bacteria you can eat yogurt with the bacteria in it. i hope that helps. good luck :)

  • @welrish Thanks! I'm hesitant to start doxy, because I've heard from so many that the acne just comes back after, & sometimes worse :( I'm really thinking of doing an anti-androgen, like the spironolactone. I've thought for a long time I might have too much androgens, but I don't have health insurance. I can handle the acne on my face, but the place it really bothers me is my chest. I've pretty much cleared my back, via BP & 10% AHA lotion, but my chest still gets bumps :( so humiliating!

  • @AndreaJuliet aldactone does work and you can be on it longer than antibiotics. you just have to get you rpotassium checked yearly to make sure your levels are ok. Oxy 10 is an over the counter BP wash type of thing. Retin-a also comes in a generic good luck! & no tanning. a tan is a sign on damage.

  • i have had acne ever since i was 10 and im 12 now... what do you think will work for me?

  • @spriteniteXD what type of acne do you have? deep, painful bumps? if so oral antibiotics like doxycylcine, minocin, amoxil, solodyn, aldactone or accutane & topicals or creams like retina-a, epiduo, aczone, ziana, differin will help. if you only have small acne like white- & black heads- retin-a is the only thing that will get rid of & prevent them

  • @welrish well my acne type is only surface pimples and some redness

  • @spriteniteXD then you need an antibiotic & Retin-A micro pump 0.04% to start out w/

  • @spriteniteXD again, i would recommend seeing a dermatologist but for superficial acne i would start oit w/ retin-a 0.04% every night with cetaphil gentle cleanser for a wash morning & night. see your dermatologist because there may be something else that he/she may want to try :)

    good luck

  • @spriteniteXD i would go to a dermatologist. it depends on what kind of acne you have (deep vs superficial) & if you need antibiotics and/or topicals & washes. its become trial & error in the beginning so be patient & no picking ;) best of luck

  • I couldn't agree more! This combo has saved my skin - YaY to not having to cover skin up with makeup!

  • Sweet, a birthday video from welrish Xp

  • @MrJaHorton :) happy birthday!

  • congrats!! (:

and im happy to see other girls that know that make-up is for covering up stuff! haha i hate seeing chicks wearing mudd when they dont even have acne haha

  • i'm glad you found a very helpful job :)

and glad your acne is almost cleared up, and sounds super effective. I'm happy for you and that you have your self esteem back :)

i have a question if you don't mind me asking, my boyfriend has pretty bad acne exzema (sp?) is there anything that can sooth it and possibly clear it a little?.
