Horrible launch, and also Sti has really short gearing. The gearing on Sti tranny is meant for cornering to bring out fast torque. For drags it'd really help if your had 07 sti trans or ppg long gears.

@transamman305 because the suby had the short gears, 07 tranny with the longer hears this subie would have walked off worse, plus he bogged the shit out of his launch, a good launch and this race would have been over b4 the TA got into 2nd, TA stock has 325hp i think? vs the 300hp STI,with a 30r turbo a STI should really put a hurten on that TA, my guess is driver mod

@afgandominator GM rated them at 325 HP but they are realistically more lik 345 HP. They make 300 to the rear wheels stock. The problem is that stock sti's run out of steam on the top end with thier tiny turbos, where the LS1 engines will pull to the moon. This sti had a big turbo and supporting mods though so I agree, the driver could have been a bit better.

@jimmytheas Prett sure this car would have run much quicker than a 12.6 if the kid actually drove it properly though. The trans am ran a 12.7 and you could see how the STI was pulling on it top end. With a good launch I bet that car would have gone low 12's...maybe even high 11's. He raced another camaro from a roll that ran high 12's and pulled on it pretty good!

Would be cool to meet up and BS a bit. As for the TA...bad news. It's been totalled. It got rearended toward the end of last summer and the damage was pretty ugly. Driver was OK though. He has a pretty nasty CTS-V now that I'm sure he'd run you in! Talk to ya later.

Yeah that scream is very loud.. But it's due to the external wastegate and the STi probably had launch control from the intense rev limiting in the beginning. Nice race though. Seemed pretty fun!
