@I3eyondTheGrave PG has a guitar with 3 strings on it, all tuned to the same key. so he plays that pattern in the same frets, whereas he plays the same lick in 3 octaves. That is why he shifts between 3 positions. But in a 3-string guitar, he just plays them in the same position. An example of this is from the song Get out of my Yard

It's called string skipping, it has nothing to do with guitars with 3 strings, it's a technique.
