I remember when Maury Povich did the 7pm news on Fox 5. He was good and I was surprised when he left but A Current Affair was big so I guess that was it. I'm still a Maury fan after all these years!
@TheLastNetwork WNYW and WWOR still have separate studios, despite their status as sister stations, as per WWOR's FCC obligations to keep their license and studios in New Jersey.
Maury did sports for DC station WTTG way back in the day. His father was Shirley Povich, prominent sports columnist who wrote for the Washington Post.
@newscaster13 Nowadays, Maury's talk show's all about determining the paternity of certain fathers' children, and not discussing current events like Oprah.

"Good evening, everyone. I'm Maury Povich. And what does that make you? You, my friend, ARE the father!"

Maury Povich... long before his name became synonymous with "You ARE the father!"
He also did "A Current Affair" at the time.

The same Maury Povich that...
1) anchored at sister station WTTG (also FOX Channel 5) in Washington, DC in the early 80s.
2) Married newswoman Connie Chung (NBC, ABC, CBS and CNN).
3) Now has a talk show with that famous line, "You are not [or are] the father"

Not to mention that little show that made a "Ka-Ching" out the "Ka-Chung!"

I thought that was funny how he led into his own show at the end... slick!

That was the whole point why Maury was anchoring in the first place.
