hi neil,i was there with you in 1970,when we were looking for utopia.after our long trek from u.k. overland.not caring about our destination.where ever our hearts led us.bangkok.where thai sticks were smoked and everybody smiled.the atlant hotel with it's g.i.deserters from the vietnam war,where missionaries,prostitutes,hippi­es,journalists etc,all gathered and exchanged stories.mama san who gave us food coa phat every day.oh bangkok full of life.we travellers from the weary west caught the vibe.
