It's surprising how well humans (and cats) can live along side a family of skunks. We seem to have had this same family around for the past four years. They come in at night and eat what s left in the bowls of cat foods. If there is nothing left, they now come and sit on the step and look in through the screen door to see if we are home and perhaps help out a lil skunk.
