  • What temperature do you cook the chicken at?

  • Tried this with our propane bbq and got excellent results; just watch the heat settting and cooking time, but works great as a "mock" tandoor if one isn't available, and we like it better than the oven results.

  • Hello Chef, Can you please tell me on what degree heat i need to keep in a FAN ASSISTED OVEN . Also the reqd cooking time in the fan assisted oven...it will also be helpfull if you could tell the same time reqd and heating option in a conventional microwave. Many Thanx

  • Hello Chef.. I can't find any mustard oil in the stores that's safe to cook with!..All the labels say: "for external use only" !! can I substitue olive oil or canola oil? Thank you & great video!!

  • Sokhi saab ...i tried this at home in my microwave and it came out well...Thanks a lot ...I am trying your other recipies

if we order this in restaurants they give us a paste as well to be taken with the tandoori ...the paste is similar to taste of the second curd marimate....Is it same thing that is given in the restaurants.......????

  • We were so impressed by the video.. myself n my husband tried this jst after watching the video.. it came out so well. My husband forwarded this recipe to his manager as well here in Newyork as he is the grt fan of indian food..Thanks a Lot for all of ur videos

  • Hello Chef, your recipes are simply awesome :)

I have one question. There are two modes in the oven, bake and broil, so I was wondering did you bake the chicken or broil it? And if you baked it then what temperature did you use?

    Thank you !!

  • The chicken is baked at 180 degree celcius.

  • sardarji,

    please,

jo bana rahe woh dekhavo, aap ka chahera nahi,

  • do we have to pre-heat the oven ??

  • Yes, you have to preheat the oven as it is a tandoori item.

    Happy Cooking!

    sanjeevkapoorkhazana

  • At what temp do you cook the chicken?

  • If cooking in microwave oven, you can cook the chicken on HIGH mode.

    Happy Cooking!

    sanjeevkapoorkhazana

  • @sanjeevkapoorkhazana Thanks, what about a regular oven? Around 200 C?

  • The regular oven would require cooking at 400-450 C.

    sanjeevkapoorkhazana

  • Chef, it was nice watching ur videos, Ur recipes are really helpful to us.... Thanks alot.

Chef can u please suggest if one dont have oven, then alternate way to cook..

  • If you don't have an oven, you can cook it on a normal tawa. In that case, to cook the chicken fully you will have to cover it. But doing so might spoil the marination. You can try it out and let us know how it turned out to be.

    Happy Cooking!

    sanjeevkapoorkhazana

  • Chef, it was nice to watch this video, but can u suggest, if one dont have oven, whats the way to cook the chicken.

  • hahahahahha it remind me biology class...

  • hello harpal ji..i tried this recipy and it was superb...thax alot...only one thing u didnt tell the temp for oven,,so i made it 450 for 10 min theb more 20 min in 350 temp..it was really nice, yeammy, and it was melting inside the mouth..thank u so much ...

  • please mention the temperature of the oven.

  • Sardarji, gal suno.. Tussi mujhe bas inna bata do ki sadde oven mein microwave mode, grill mode, convection mode in mein kaunsa mode use karoon..

    SASRIYAKAAL.. JAI GURU NANAK.

  • Sardarji, it'd be easier to cut the chicken into pieces before marinating it. And then it's easier to soak it in the marinade and also easier to cook. But anyway, I like your recipe.

  • Try out the recipe and let us know how you like the recipe.

  • @sanjeevkapoorkhazana Thanks for ur reply. Will do that & get back to u. Thanks for all ur postings. I'm a Punjabi myself so I like ur style.

  • Hey, ahm.. well, don't you use tandorri masala on it? I saw you used Garam Masala.. ahmm..is it the same?

  • Garam masala powder is different from tandoori masala. Yo do not need to use tandoori masala if you follow this recipe.

  • Hi! Harpal Singh Ji I loved your chicken tandoori recipe and I will try at my home.

And I have a request please show us how to prepare mouglai dish (anyone).

  • Hi Chef,

This is definately the best Tandoori chicken recipee on the web, I love the flavours that you are putting into the chicken. Great job, you should be on TV with your own series. Many people in the UK would love to cook this type of food at home rather than going to a takeaway.

  • Thanks for the appreciation. Keep trying more and more recipes and let us know how they turn out to be.

  • Good video. Have you tried cooking it on a grill? You can kind of get that charcoal flavor on a grill, but I've never tried cooking a whole chicken on one, so I don't know if it would be too dry or something.

  • It is very difficult to cook entire chicken on grill. You can cut it into pieces and then grill it.

    Happy Cooking!

    sanjeevkapoorkhazana

  • Hi Sir

I do not have oven at home..can I do tandoor chicken in microwave oven? If so can you tell me how to keep in microwave(timing, power etc)...

  • It is advisable to sear the chicken on a tawa or grill pan instead of cooking it in a microwave.

  • whts the oven temperature?

  • One thing I want to know is the temperature for the OVEN. What shall be the temperature used for cooking a chicken in 15-20 minutes?

  • Nice recipe! But doesn't the time differ when ur cooking in a microwave?

Please tell me for how long do have to put in the microwave for convection mode?

  • Cook it for 15- 20 minutes.

  • When we add the mustard oil in the mixture of tandoori chicken, don't we get the smell of the mustard oil while eating it. And can we use any other oil instead of the mustard oil ?

  • @sanjeevkapoorkhazana Yes i tried it, and my kids loved it soooo much specially me, i couldn't have enough, the tandoori chicken was sooo delicious, and i did it exactly the way u instructed, but for my husband i had to marinate diferrent without the spicy chili, he can't eat much chili cause of his chronic ulcer, but before i mixed it with the chicken i put some in a tiny bowl so we could dip it with the cooked chicken and guess what my husband dipped it and loved it.. Again

    Thank you

This looks so juicy/meaty w/o the extra sogginess.. Anyways, I've found a V Shaped Rack with a Bottom Drip Pan that seems to avoid a lot of sticking of the flesh when the Chicken is roasting.. But, nevertheless awesome recipe.. nicely done..Thanks.. Jai Hind :)
