Remember what I said about politicians lying? The same goes for corporate media most of the time as well. It is not so much deliberate falsification, just lying by omission, them failing to do their own homework because it is easier to simply parrot. I did away with my cable subscription years ago. Google is my best friend.

Panpiper, media report what people want to hear. Teacher evaluation is HR stuff that may be interesting to teachers, but makes the rest of us hit the snooze button.

However, when state budgets are facing billion dollar shortfalls, and teachers continue to scream for mo money mo money mo money, THAT is news.

As a student, you should also be concerned. Merit pay will mean higher tuition charges or higher apartment rent, depending on how states fund it.
