Get shut of the K&N as it has a tiny surface area - so it needs bigger holes to pass air. That means the air is NOT filtered and it causes damage to your engine. The car will have MORE power with the original filter housing and paper element. The surface area is massive, so it passes more air than the engine can use at full RPM and it will filter. Why would car makers deliberately degrade performance - ir is a myth invented to sell products you don't need and do no good - don't be conned!

For the tach, open up the cluster and turn the needle clockwise until it gets to zero. Careful with those 275+ horses!

My mom has a 2002 Mazda tribute 3.0V6 DOHC. I think it has 24v I forgot though. Is it because yours is a inline?

@tytig94 - That is a good package in your moms car, the Duratec motor is a hearty engine. Inlines sound different than V motors and H motors. Listen to a Nissan Skyline, those have inline 6's so they have that similar "ricey" sound, though its just the design of the motor. Go listen to a Subaru or Porsche H6 motor and you will notice they sound diffferent too.

Yeah I like to drive my moms car It's torquey and peppy and fast. The only H6 engine I've heard of but never listened to was a H5 from hummer I don't understand how those work I never looked at them before but I will I guess. I don't know why my comment got a thumbs down :(

In H6 I meant a horizontally opposed 6 cylinder. There are Inline 6's, V6's and Horizontally Opposed 6's. (Same applies to 4 cylinders)

it happened to mine. something about the computer and they had to reset it or get a new one cant remember. mine did it on the rpm and speedo
