  • ARGH the 3/4 section is so amazing. just the delicate way he handles the thoroughly overused (these days, anyway) tonic to minor 3rd chord progression is amazing.

  • By the way, I sang this also with my college choir way back when....I remember, I was in the baritone section and had a hard time reaching the higher notes at the end....maybe the emotions took over.....what a softy I am...:)

  • I have tears in my eyes everytime I hear the ending. One of the most beautiful music ever written. Fauré rocks!!

  • yay!! altos...the only piece we start and head off in the requiem!!! woo!!

    anywayz, love faure's requiem.....more than mozart's

  • A very fitting rendition of this movement of the work and always makes me cry. It's a very emotional piece, as is the whole reqiuem. Timelss and radiant. I sing alto and that line has to go 'stratosphoric' at the end and I always enjoy and treasure that brief that moment of exqusite harmony. Whenever life is a dissapointment it's a relief to have these musical gems to insprire you.

  • totally agree....i sang alto on this 2!

  • it's a shame you can hear the emergency sirens in the background at 2:23.

  • This church is just next to the main fire station in Oslo.

  • nice

  • It's a bit faster than usual versions of this piece, but its beautiful!

Not a single flaw, and the setting is beautiful.

  • The soloist is amazing, and this version is just beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing!

  • a bit quicker tempo than i'm used, but virtually flawless performance
