I am a TKD practitioner but I have always had a fascination with Karate as well. I must say I am a tad bit jealous that there are more karatekas out there that practice Karate as it should be taught than Taekwondoists that practice Taekwondo as it should be taught.
Lets see here I perviously trained in the SKA-Shotokan of America, then went to Christran Kempo, and Shorin ryu karate in a total of nearly 10 years and now yet to find the key peace in karate. I would assume it would take some time.
the problem with most of the comments here...you don't know what you're looking at. Sindt sensei is demonstrating forms, not fighting. To those of you who are not familiar with classical styles you misunderstand what yakusoku kumite is all about. It's like scales to a musician. It is a training technique. To denegrate it by saying it's not real fighting is like complaining that a pianist playing his scales doesn't know music. Execellent job sensei. PS. I have almost 40 yrs in Matsubayashi-ryu.

This Karateka's speed, power, and technique are far above what I see in most "masters" today. I'm proud to see Matsubayashi Ryu has an outstanding practitioner.
90% of fatal techniques or those dealing great damage are forbidden in UFC or MMA eg. elbow strike downward ,groin atacks , neck atacks or eye atacks ... the list goes on
They are putting there hip into it, Seikan means knuckles, not punch, but you know that being such a master of the martial arts though right? Hahahaha.... Oye, some cockhead wanna-bes....
this is and exercise, if Jim defended against a "real" opponent you probably wouldent see 50% of the moves he'd make - i recomend watching some footage on KEMPO KARATE (if you want to see "pure" destruction) - I myself train Shorin ryu but my master also studied Kempo. Also i advise everyone not beliving in true potencial of okinawan karate to look up kempo karate ( its easiest to see the dmg done to the opponent in it)
