actually taking a closer look, its not protein seperation, its gel extraction. The video is low quality, but its definitley gel extraction. i find that razor blades work faster than pipette tips for any kind of gel extraction.
i expect you plan on using mass spec to identify your samples. if thats the case, using a filthy pair of sciscors that happen to be lying on your bench to cut the tips will contaminate your samples, and screw up your mass spec results.
wtf is taking you so long? loading a pI seperation strip shouldnt take longer than a minute. even if you were loading an SDS gel, it still shouldnt take longer than a few minutes, maybe like 15-20 seconds at an absolute maximum per lane.
