If everyone has a rechargable electric car, 3D printer, solar power and hydroponics, money isn't really needed anymore. But I think the 1 percent will do anything and everything to prevent this from happening.
If value is subjective then any objectification of it [ie money] will be a false representation of it [value] End the money system , end the nation state end consumerism
Yea, we need money because value is subjective, for the most part, and we need something other to measure that value based on the individual. That is why The Venus Project is bunch of bull. It also has really scary ultra-centralized, authoritarian overtones in it.
What if someone owns my street and I can't leave my house without paying them? I know roads have tolls and are maintained through taxes, but if every road was owned by a different company, wouldn't that amount to a lot of fees along the way?
There have been many many many many many intellectuals as well as economists who have favoured the abolition of money. Now, this doesn't mean that because they were economists or intellectuals that it is therefore the best system, however these people are smarter than your sorry ass. Or read An Anarchist FAQ.
Sorry, Mr. Spinney, I disagree with you regarding a decentralized justice system. I will preface by saying that in NO WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM is the American justice system anywhere near fair. But, by creating competing judicial systems, it would be easy to buy justice: if one did not like the verdict in one court, they could go to another one for a different one. Then the issue becomes whose judgment would stick? Love your videos!
My problem with anarchism is that there isn't anything stopping people from making up and enforcing their own rules. If we had competing police forces, I could have you arrested for wearing a blue shirt as long as I could find someone willing to arrest you for that reason for a price that I was willing to pay. Granted, the law system we have now isn't perfect, and there are plenty of laws I don't agree with. But at least individual people can't enforce any law they can pull from their ass.
@mrplow8 - You're absolutely right. I really have no respect for anarchy or anarko-socialism. It's a school of thought without thought. Those competing police forces then, would compete for territory and right to govern certain areas, and what happens? Anarchy turns into corrupt fascism in 3 seconds flat.
Hey Jacob how do you build a highway in an anarchist society if if aunt Jamima doesn't want to sell her land that she buried Uncle Jamima on or allow a highway to go threw it?
@OtherJacobSpinney yeah but then you have to redefine property ownership in multiple measurements of mineral rights air space and effect zones
I'm pretty sure aunt Jamima is gonna try and stab you if you unearth uncle Jamima while digging a tunnel. and what about noise pollution to Jamima family and spacial distortion of her property from probable collapse or water table distortion.
and if you build an aerial tunnel what about shade and debris pollution to her farm
Marxists believe in polylogism, so they think economics is just something the boursuois invented to justify their oppression but that the proletariat operates in a metaphysically different universe. Its dumb and most marxists are so self-unaware that they dont even know this.

In short, it seems they don't understand the concept of demand as it pertains to economics.

@eonomen This is what options contracts are for. If you run out of options, you can always build a tunnel.
