If you have a game store close by then go and visit. Watch a few games of each. Then decide. It would suck to spend hundreds of dollars on a system and then find out that it isn't really played around where you live.

right if you want a big game with swords powers and arrows medieval weapons and mythical poowers go for fantasy

if you like futuristic warfare with armour and guns then go for 40k if you like the sound of them both then collect one first then start another one later like i did

i never tryed fantasy but played 40k for 15 years now

is it worth trying? caus to me 40k alwways looked like more complex game. Transports Tanks etc.

Fantasy looks to me like both sides just rush forward and fight closecombat and thats it

Not at all. Fantasy has more rules and more depth. It is a very tactical game. I prefer fantasy over 40K. Fantasy tend to appeal to a little older gaming crowd than does 40k.

It really depends on what is played in your area.

my fear is just that after buying a army, painting & going trough all the rules learing... that i will essentialy be playing the same game just diffrent models.

And i´m not really a fan of dragons griffons and all that

If sci fi is more your liking then stay with 40K. A typical fantasy army is going to cost you more than a typical 40K army. Play what you like.

Well it's worth trying... It's a very fun game, 2 me fantasy is easier than 40k.. If you like tactical game & fun game choose fantasy... it depends on your area if your area has no fantasy player then don't start fantasy... If u have one you should consider fantasy... My area is all fantasy

give it a shot, i did, its been much better than 40k in my opinion, because it takes you back into the past like your living in a medieval world, 40k doesn't do that with me and fantasy is more tactical many people underestimate it but it is a much harder and more interesting game

I'd say both are equally good... It just depends on whether you like past or future?? Flexibility or "tight" movement?? More shooting or more Magic??

I am really enjoying playing them so far.  I have 8 or 9 wins and no losses with them. For 40K i have chaos space marines and will be starting Imperial Guard soon.
