I see problems with this. The worst one is you should ensure the area around the glow plug is 100% clean before removing the glow plug. If there is dirt lodged down there, then removing the plug and shoving paper towel down there is just going to loosen the dirt and let it fall into the combustion chamber. = Exploded engine on next start!

This person apparently doesnt know what he's talking about too much (video poster). When I clean my nitro (Losi 8ight) I take it apart. That is the only real way to clean it. And putting a balled up paper towel does more good than bad. Even a little spec of dirt can harm and engine, and when racing offroad you will see dirt by the glow plug. When I put ARO in my engine, I take the cooling head off. Clean up the shims and button and cooling head and it will work alot better than this!

Try a Q-tip. do the WD-40 once and leave it in there, it's good for the OWB and you don't need to use ARO with the WD-40.....one or the other, not both. DO NOT soak you air filter in 30wt/40wt motor oil, that's what 'air filter' oil is for.

Some advice here is right, and some wrong.

This is how I clean my engines, with expertise;

(make sure the engine's cold before doing this)

While the plug's still in, spray down some de-greaser into the head. Let sit for 1 min, then spray out residue/gunk/grime with compressed air, THUROUGHLY wipe CLEAN.

To PROPERLY lube and maintain the engine after each run; unscrew plug, put 4 drops of after run-oil into the engine + 3 in carb. Turn engine around a few times and it's ready for storage.

First off: WD40 does no harm what so ever to the engine. It lubricates and keeps rust away. Read upon the facts before you post crap.

A bunch of racers use WD40 as a part of their engine-maintenance. Again; understand what WD40 is.

Secondly: (cold motor) while the glowplug's still in, spray down the top (around the plug) with f.instance WD40. Blast it out with compressed air, wipe dry. That's the PROPER way to clean out the head.
