Nice :) Ascend man i think that i will make it call me Daddy Soon keep it up and you will stay ahead of me lol :) never stop Rocking man do it to it love peace and chicken grease :)
I do a lot of indoor climbing. Honestly, I can only do v2 - v3. But whenever I get the chance, I make up maybe v5-v7s. The world of climbing is amazing for anything you want to do! :D
just keep climbing and you can achieve these grades, climb hard and if you cant get to the wall make sure you got a fingerboard or you can go running or something or work your core!
does the guy give him a boost at 1:27? It looks like he's taking his right hand off chris' sweet cheeks after a little help for that last impressive hold
Is this route just an extension of The Flame he did from Free Hueco? I recognized the second half of the climb, especially the hand match and mantle. He got the first ascent of the other climb too.
how high can the rating go? Seriously??? Sharma is famous because he climbed v13 or so when he was a kid. Then v14 then v15 then v16 then v17.... Do we need to change the v1 scale to allow average climbers? Normal, fit people can't climb v3's, maybe we should adjust the whole scale up.
I think at the lower end of the V scale there is a massive difference between a v4 and v6 where as with say a v11 and a v13 there isnt as much of a difference in difficulty. People who rate the problems must send the problem and everyone is different. Dont get hung up on the rating, Iv done v3's that are harder then v6's. Its just a general estimate to give people and idea of what level its around, just have fun and push your abilities.
thanks for the positive comment! I ask a simple question and I get a lot of hate. You must be the only climber that has commented. You gave good reasons to back up your opinion and you ultimately say it's about having fun and pushing your own ability. I agree! However, in the name of rating advancement......you should go up a rating every couple months until you get to intermediate climbing. Remember, gym climbing is all about ratings. 2 months should afford a beginner a new rating.
That is so true! I have done v8 on site without knowing the rating and then projected v6 for three days to get the send! everyone will have a different experience based on style, height, type of rock, type of holds, ect. just climb what grabs you don't worry too much about any scale!
Sharma himself once said that he doesn't like rating problems because it's too personal to be an accurate gauge.
One of the interesting things I always thought about the Heuco grades is that V0 is hard enough where many people completely new to climbing can't immediately do a V0, whereas virtually anyone can do a 5.5.
@davervr6 there is a an exponential increase in difficulty change as you go higher in the v-scale. the difference between v12 and v13 is astronomical compared to the difference between v4 and v5. that being said, grades are entirely relative.
@Finkployd2112 There is a lot more difference in v4-v5 then v12-v13, because everyone wanted to push grades forward to set the bar higher. It just appears that the difference is greater because there are more v4's then v13's.
if you adjust it, meaning v6's now will be a bigger number, so v0- now will be v2 or w/e.
if we do that, in 10 years or so the v scale might reach 30 haha no way. i think because they;'re pushing the levels so high, we should move the scale lower, if it has to be changed. but i think its fine the way it is.
this kid i know hated on sharma saying and i quote "he sucks"

This is in Venezuala I think. Maybe from the Big Game DVD. They use Fugazi songs throughout that DVD.

do climbers train their strenght with for example powerlifting or kettlebells??
warriorsoul28 3 years ago
Not particularly. It's good to do some weights for the opposing muscles, such as the chest and triceps.
Greekguy824 3 years ago
Climbers have to be careful of weightlifting, as unnecessary muscle adds dense weight which is a disadvantageous for climbing.
kruks 2 years ago
yes kettlebells give great forearm exersises.

@warriorsoul28 I powerlift and climb

No, we do not need to adjust the V scale to massage average climbers' egos.

or maybe people should put time and effort into it and get better
