  • (Part 2)

What the world is missing though, is genuine, intelligent, funny, warm, giving person like you!! Now that's a movement that the world need to see and get more of!!

The world would be a much better place if it would contain more people like you!!

Please keep that in mind, as it's the truth!!

Thanks for everything and stay like you are, otherwise, others won't have the privilege to be move by your personality and the content of your videos.

    You're the best!! : )

  • Thanks, NOC0DE.

But you know, the world isn't missing the qualities you listed. We just don't see them in mainstream media.

Eh. I could ramble on that topic for a lot longer than a comment would permit. :P

  • (Part 1)

For the ones who just listen to Urgelt for the first time, you just saw the "perfect picture" of what this man really his! Simply a WONDERFUL person!!!

Facials movements we couldn't care less Urgelt, we see them everyday, everywhere, many time fake ones, sometime real ones. But we already see them. They are nothing more than physical movements.

  • The muscles in your heart work just fine-- and your sense of compassion is anything but 'wooden'.. no, no, no.. THANK YOUR URGELT!

  • This is George from Dayton Oh ,Are you going to make a video on music.Such as the affects of some of this hard core music on our children?

  • It sounds as though you have a firmly held view on the subject. Perhaps you would consider sharing it with the YouTube audience?

  • urgelt , you would be a grate guru =)

  • I'm glad you reacted to my message that way, Volshen.

Good luck with ending your caffeine dependency.

  • Being a novice on YouTube, I don't even know how to 'write' to you other than in this fashion.

It will eventually dawn upon me, but in the meantime, may I 'post' my gratitude to you for your videos upon various topics.

Without exception, there is something of real value in each one of them.

There is, perhaps, a very valid reason for your facial hirsuteness; a reason which you may not wish to express.

I sincerely hope that you find comments such as mine acceptable and not rude

    Scouse Tom

  • I don't consider it rude.

You can correspond by clicking on "send message" on my profile page. Be warned, YouTube's mail service is second-rate. I usually invite frequent correspondents to use e-mail.

  • Even people with excellent hearing DO lip-read.

Background noise often intrudes upon a person's capability to focus upon what is being said, in particular.

So when you HIDE your features, particularly around your mouth, you reduce the likelihood of people being able to use the tool of visual confirmation of that which they are trying to hear.

Eye-brow movement, hand gestures, etc., will NOT compensate for loss of facial expression hidden by hair.

I envy you your beard, but it is in the way

  • I have deliberately NOT looked at the comments made previously on this 'posting' [have I got the correct word there?].

The main reason I have difficulty understanding you is NOT your diction.

Nor is it the type of English, rate of delivery [which I think is excellent], et cetera.

It is, I believe, because your 'wooden-ness' of face is caused by the problem of my not being able to read your lips.

Even people with good hearing do lip-read.

Good teachers always face their pupils.

  • My facial hair is there because shaving caused a medical problem called "pseudofolliculitis." Letting my beard grow was the only solution. I usually trim my mustache before recording a video, but if I take too much off, it looks terrible, heh.

I have trouble sometimes with partial facial paralysis of cheek muscles (it comes and goes). Not much can be done about it.

  • Wow, Urgelt. I just saw this, and I am seriously getting So filled with energy and HOPE for humanity, which I have lacked for so long. There is hope, as I can read other thankful viewer's comments to you. There is hope!

You are Truly a Very good man, Urgelt, and I feel blessed to have found you out of all the other users here on youtube. This happened as I was searching for videos regarding raw foods and health in general, and I found you. Peace, everyone.

  • I think there is hope, too.

Nothing worth gaining is effortless, though. We must educate each other - one at a time if need be - and work to realize our hopes.

Thank you for your kind comment, Crystallic85.

  • most people dont comw to see you jump around figuratively speaking but they come to hear you share your opinions, knowledge, etc. oh btw your videos are magnifescent

  • Thank you, Huntery, you are kind to say so.

  • You Sir have no worrys about how you apear on this youtube, Like i Said im a British Soldier with little Education in reading / wrighting i came from a slum But i did good , your voice and the tales/ Truths etc lifts me a bit .God Bless mate( friend)

  • Your topics answer many questions in life... You are an inspiration to many people, We need you here on youtube, with us! You guide me through life just with your videos! God Bless!

  • Your kind encouragement means a lot to me, Decimuscarrerus, thank you.

  • display my name please! I love you!

  • I wish I could. This video was made when I had only a small handful of subscribers. To my shock, I've got more than 3600 now.

So, my days of listing subscribers in a video are over. If it's any consolation, I do still answer mail and read all the comments. I suppose there are levels of popularity where even those things become impossible.

  • 12-18 CANS?!?!!?

  • i like you.

you make me believe in people.

  • that was a very sweet video.

  • A nice set of horned rimmed glasses, that knit stocking cap and more in b/w for me. As one of your newest fans I also must comment on your so called "wooden face". It and your fine choice for topic is what drew me to click on you. Don't change THE FACE, man!! Thanks for your hard work. I appreciate your time.

  • You have a wealth of information. I like your stories and poetry. Jenna

  • You drew me in with "The Cremation of Sam McGee" and now I'm watching everything else you have produced. Great job delivering quality, educated, and researched information. How about some Edward Abbey readings, PLEASE? Desert Solitare would be a great start.

  • I find what you call your 'wooden face' to be the most endearing thing about your videos. I find that you have more emotion and life in your eyes and articulation than most people do with their whole bodies. Thank YOU and please keep up the good work!

  • The generous kindness of 'tubers continues to astonish and delight me. Thank you, TP.

  • You're fantastic .... and I don't SEE a wooden face at all. I see a very kind, caring face with a very expressive set of eyes - and we all know that the eyes are the windows to the soul.

You're very special, and you have a special place in my heart.

Thank you for just being who you are.

  • Thank you, Katie, you're very kind.

  • Urgelt, It is wonderful to know that there are still beautiful people in the world. It is reassuring that people still care about others. Thank you, sir, and live well.

  • I just ran across a couple of your videos today. I've watched a couple of them and subscribed to yours so I can see more. I did not think you seemed wooden at all; both your face and your voice conveyed someone who was putting a lot of thought into what he said, not someone who was just reading words. I have to go to work now, but look forward to watching more later. Thank you for your very thoughtful and helpful work!

  • You deserve the metal umlaut, for you are metal. Ürgelt. Sounds metal.

  • Also I think you already convey a lot with just your voice and your eyebrows.

  • I don't mind your so-called "wooden face" at all! We're all just too used to seeing television personalities smile at every little thing. I appreciate the gravity, and even if you had no head, I could still read your meaning from your intonation. These videos are wonderful...I think just listening to you lowers my stress level!

  • Thank you, jfpress. I'm very happy you like them. :-)

  • That was very sweet and thought filled.

  • i enjoy watching "a man with a wooden face" its the stuff u do not the stuff u say that makes u amazingz0r <3

  • Another great story! Thanks for sharing.

  • I´m from Venezuela, and I would like to thank you for posting your material. I´m glad to see people like you are broadcasting. Thanks for sharing, again.

  • Thank YOU for sharing and teaching!

  • Urgelt, I wouldn't describe your expression as wooden at all. I always viewed you as being very thoughtful and I have found your videos to be so engaging. You speak on topics of importance and it is what you have to say and the gentle yet assured manner in which you say them that grabbed my attention in the first place. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with all of us.

  • Thanks so much for your kind words and support. :-)

  • Thanks, Urgelt,,,,for the inspiration

  • Great story, Juliet. We need to hear stories like yours. Thanks so much for sharing with us!

  • This is a wonderful video and it is really beautiful that you made this for those that enjoy what you do! Very cool!

  • Thanks kindly. :-)

  • that story was amazing.

    it sums up life!

  • Glad you liked it, Jim. Yes, grapejuliet can tell a great story. I hope she gets around to putting herself on YouTube one day.

  • No, thank YOU. And I agree with Marcus; you have a public radio voice and should really consider doing some videos where you read some of your favorite poems/passages of books.

  • You're so sweet, Angie! Thanks!

I will do some entertaining videos soonish, I promise. Though when my sense of humor is engaged, strange things happen... fair warning!

  • Thank you for the vid, and soda IS very damaging. I used to be really hefty in 10th grade and in 11th grade I weened myself off of soda. I also lost about 10-15 lbs... just from stopping the soda consumption.

And don't try to "animate" yourself to please people. Your videos are nice (and sorry if this sounds like an insult) not only because they are informative, but because I can do other things while I listen to your brief reports on different subjects.

  • I'm not at all insulted, Marcus. I'm just glad you're listening and posting great comments. Thanks! :-)

  • Hey Urgelt, I was suprised you added my name in there.. haha, thanks. Anywho, I told my dad about this because he drinks a lot of coffee and soda, and how these cause cravings. He was pretty interested, so when I go visit him again, I was gonna show him these videos. Thanks Urgelt.

  • Great, ddstar. Hope it helps, and thanks so much for joining our discussion!

  • I've been watching and enjoying your videos. I stopped smoking two months ago and your concern for health has helped me to keep my priorities straight and stay strong. So thank you. I hope to give up the soda soon. You really made me think about it. I never noticed your lack of expression. I thought it and you voice were part of your calm, comforting nature. :)

  • Welcome to the discussion, siszam, and thank you for your kind words. Good luck with that soda. :-)

  • Hey, thanks to you, sir. Every time I'm tempted to drink caffeine I think of you! You're helping me stay motivated.

I never noticed your lack of expression, either. (Maybe I figured it was hidden under the beard :) )

Keep it up. You are a valuable member of this community.

  • Thanks, F.M.E. Say, there might be some money here! I could sell an Urgelt doll wearing a stern expression. Pull the cord and it says: "I saw that!" :P

  • lmao.

  • Thank you for making sch a wonderful series. I think you have touched a big nerve here with people and educated many of us. You've also shown that YouTube can used as a teaching tool and not just a place for vlogs, music videos and other types of videos. I look forward to your next series!

  • By the way, what you may lack in facial expression is clearly made up for in the tone of your voice. You have a very good speaking voice. That and the information you provide keep my attention easily. Take care buddy.

  • One more thing! I appreciate the mention! Thank you!

  • Russ, you yourself are teaching by story and example. You're just more subtle about it than I am!

  • Hooray for grapejuliet!

Kudos to you, Urgelt. Looking forward to seeing what you'll bring us next.

  • True speech is in the eyes, not the face anyways. I never even noticed. This video was definitely amazing.

DAMN, I hope you continue the Healthy Eating series... I can't live without. I don't think I've ever been addicted to caffeine but once in my life, but I can still relate to sugar addictions and all that type of stuff.

I'm lovin' all of your vids.

    Thanks for the mention!

    Thanks for the wonderful vids!

    Your subscriber/friend,

    Prince Zeris

  • It seems I've felt self-conscious about it, only to discover that no-one had noticed! It's strange when the real world collides with your imaginary one and punctures it. :P

HE will slow down, certainly. Perhaps we'll find things to talk about?
