Do tempo em que não era só dar pro Diretor pra aparecer no Filme. Um pouquinho de talento se fazia necessário. Ainda mais, pra contracenar com um " monstro " como Peter Sellers. E.... Charme.
Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll.
Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll.
SHE WAS THE PERFECT COMBINATION for this movie, the beauty and the funny character of Sellers. I still believe this is the funniest movie I've ever seen...
I'm trying to figure this out on guitar. Obviously, the guitar part in this scene has been dubbed. Nothing too helpful on the internet that I could find. Lost in complex jazz chords once again!
Do none of you really get the point of the scene? It's a purposefully sappy, vapid, LENGTHY tune, sung by an oblivious starlet, which just keeps going on and on and on while the Peter Sellers character is trying desperately to go into the bathroom without seeming rude.
It's not supposed to be good, it's supposed to be trivial and insipid... the way you are all celebrating this silly tune, and her ridiculous voice, tells me that you've all been had.
Do you really feel comfortable exposing your lack of musical understanding and boredom? Please post a video with your incredible talented voice so we can appreciate how you can call hers "ridiculous". Also, please share your original songs so we are all able to know the difference between one that is "silly" and one that is classy and serious.
People have only been "had" if they waste time like I am on your commentary. Yeah, you get the point...but in doing so missed the gist. Her voice is fine
You've outed yourself as the dimwit. Just because Sellers needs to take a piss, doesn't mean the interaction between him and Longet was vapid. And she happens to be a famous and influential singer even if she is doing a 'comedic' scene. The lyrics of the song itself relate to what Sellers and she are going through.
Man, you rock! You really had me going there, I had to read your comment three times before I realized you were putting me on! Brilliant! Yours is a comedic genius that rivals S. J. Perelman, Christopher Guest, and Sellers himself! I bet everybody else that reads your comment before they read my response will be taken in by it too! As one who loves a dry wit, I am in awe of your comic sense! The Monty Python guys have nothing on you!
I never heard about Claudine Longet before and then i saw this movie and she was so stunning...The funny thing is that i was just listening Dimitris From Paris's - Sacrebleu and there is a track that kinda remind me her, and i was right it was her alright.. unforgettable song =}
dimitri from paris has a cd called sacrebleu. If you go on ebay you will get a copy. i think its a studio recording of the same song. Its top quality anyway.
I respect opinions...but I must say that the album version wasn't at all terrible. In fact, Mancini's album version is simply a more robust and heavily-arranged version; in no way terrible. Just different. But this version is indeed my favorite between the two.
Yes , I was being flippant I am sure. Most things Mancini touches are golden and the album version is fine - i just wish they'd included this version on it too. Much like Moonriver/Hepburn - there's something wonderful about a breathy voice.
The same goes for the 'valley of the dolls' and 'wait until dark' - the versions from the films are rarely released and ought to be
I agree. Even "Two for the Road" has some tracks edited from the theatrical soundtrack. Or take Bacharach's Butch Cassidy soundtrack...many of the film versions of the songs don't appear on the released LP/CD. Perhaps it was deemed some sort of a bonus during that era to have a different version on the album release. Incentive to go buy a ticket perhaps? Or in our case, the DVD!

Funny thing, that this live recording is lots better than the studio recording. Great song, touching voice, hilarious movie.

Perhaps she has always been a sociopathic psycho killer; the ideal profile being -- qu'est-ce que c'est -- the sweet quiet type?

She's so cute, so sweet... OH.. Shortly after this movie was shot, dear Claudine was sent to prison for shooting and killing her lover,
