Hi Amelia, I was just curious, I am not sure what insurance you have, but what all do you have to do to see if your insurance will cover plastic surgery like this? I am pre op for roux en Y but I am trying to get an idea of what that may be like so when the time comes I am at least not so shell shocked! Congratulations again, you look great!
Was it difficult to get your insurance to approve the tummy tuck? I've been doing some research and others say it's difficult to get them to approve it because they consider it "cosmetic" surgery. Any advice?
im so happy about Amelia.. Tummy tuck is one of the most effective and fastest to remove excess fat/skin. however, not all the surgical procedures produce superb outputs.. I refer California Surgical Institute as one of the most RELIABLE Surgical Institute for having the most educated and experienced surgeons in California.
Hey girl, me again just catching up on your vids between work and all. I am a transit driver and I worry about the time it will take me to get back to work too. I can't wait either and you have done so so so so well. I hope your staying away from the sugar though and no more passing out lol
I think that the Best and safer place in the world to have a plastic surgery is South America. I had all my surgeries done there at the MakeoverTravel clinic (breast implants, nose/chin surgery, lips augmentation) I am very happy with my results, they are just amazing and the most important very natural; Plastic Surgeons in South America are reconized to be the best in the world. It's just a perfect place, very safe and much cheaper if you compare with the costs in US!
Losing weight has never been more easy. Our Full natural diet supplements will help you Get rid of your over weight easily.Check out my Channel for more information!
some insurances will cover the procedure if it's medically needed, at least mine does. you have to have proof of irritation, it affects your daily tasks etc. you look great!
im waiting to set up a date for my gastric bypass! fingers crossed!
no, it doesn't tighten, the excess weight stretches the collagen bands and makes it difficult to bouce back. I have been fortunate that i am young and it could have been worse
Do you have to pay for it?.. Im thinking of getting a bypass, Cant afford one, going to see if my doctor or whatever can get me one, I am 301 lbs ... And feel like I am disintergrating each day!.. I cant go for walks I get palputations all the time, and my partner just thinks I am lazy I genuinley find it hard I get out of breath so easy and am embarressed to go out, do you need a tummy tuck when you have a bypass?... Ahh please.. update me!.. I really like your vids!.. really useful!.
Hey Amelia!! I know that you already had your tummy tuck but I was wondering, I heard that you women can't be pregnant after they have a tummy tuck due to the nature of the surgery, is that true? Because I am thinking about getting one after my gastric bypass surgery and I'd like to have more children in the future. Thanks!
You can ask my plastic surgeon Dr Suber. He has a channel on youtube. Check out my video called "My plastic surgeon has a channel now" or something like that to get his channel.
For anyone asking about insurance covering abdominoplasty:
They only cover it if you can prove there is a medical reason that you need. Most commonly this involves rashes or fungal growth due to the overhanging skin.
I was hoping to ask you an important question. In this video you share how your health insurance has approved to pay for the abdominoplasty. How did you go about doing/getting that? I have Blue Cross Blue Shield & I have scoured their website looking to see if I could qualify, yet have found nothing to aid me. I am really hoping you could share your steps in how you were able to have insurance help in the costs. I would be tremendously grateful for any information/advice you could help me with.
I was going to write something very simular...asking for some guidence and advice on how to go about getting my insureance to help in my surgery. Thanks.
Hi, thank you so much for posting your experience. I wanted to go through the same steps like you. but when looked at the pics of people went through tummy tuck i just stopped. The scar never go. Have you asked your dr. about this? Please let me know if the scars goes away. I want to ask doctors in my country but i am afraid they will lie to me. I trust you.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
lady i have a very basic problem with you and that is that you got fat and then bitched your way into the surg room, what you do is educate yourself and never let this things happen
LOL, you write very poorly. At least use spell and grammar check before you click "post comment" the words would sting more if they were used properly. As it stands they only serve to amuse me. Go finish 9th grade ok?
wow tonight i have watched over ten of ur videos ( i swear ) ur wonderful and i am so worried cause of weight i weigh 270 pounds and i wanna know how my stomach is goanna look after i get the bypass and lose all the weight. Do u think my insurance would pay for it?? anyways listen ur amazing gurl just take care of urself and i am so glad ur husband sticks by u ( i hope) because thats not always the case in other house holds. congratulations !!!
yeah, joel isn't going anywhere! he would starve to death in dirty wrinkled clothes LOL. We are super close. It has been my experience that the surgery is like a magnifying glass. If things were kinda sorta bad they will get worse, and if things are good, they get better. We are better and stronger and happier. He no longer has to worry about my health, he never worried about my appearance. As for insurance, I was told before I had the gastric bypass that they covered excess skin removal. Call
Just met the plastic surgeon told him my story, let him take naked pics of me from every angle and that was it. They did all the letter writing and case building
I also did a cram session over the weekend and I'm addicted!! I couldn't wait to get the next update. I am so happy for you. My journey has just began, I found out this week I have high blood pressure, diabetes (in deniel)and had a horrible infection that left me home two days this week from work. It's been a VERY difficult week. My only hope now is that I will be approved asap and get healthy. I have never been thin and am inspried by your informative videos. GOOD LUCK!!! Kelly in PA
Amelia- so glad you got your approval for the tummy tuck. You are an inspiration to me since I am just starting the pre-op liquid diet and my surgeon told me this week that she wants me to lose 45 lbs. before she will submit my paperwork for surgery approval. I hope someday to be where you are at. Good luck and I know with your positive attitude you will do well, even if it is painful. Take care. Erin in California
Hey Amelia - I have been watching your videos since you were 3 mths out (i crammed all 3 mths catchup in one weekend). I am sooooooo happy for you - I cant beleive how much has happened to you in just a year! Best Wishes on the next stage!
Isnt it wonderful to feel so alive and on top.... After all those years.. Good things come to those who give unselfishly.... I am truly happy for you!!!! YOU GOT THIS... ROCK OUT!!!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! You go girl! You are gonna look AMAZING!!! I was telling my gfriend 2day that you are 172 and look incredible!! How tall are you, anyway? I am so happy for you! You are all aglow!!
My hubby's job is the generous one, the benefits depend on the employer they are through, not the insurance company. I have BCBS and they can suck if they are through a cheap company
Ciao Amelia, CONGRATULATIONS... I am very happy for you, and you look so wonderful. Wishing you much success on your new jurney to come... I'll be looking forward to the journey with you.
fantabulous! I cant listen to the whole thing cuz I'm at work sans earphones, but the look on your face while you played the voicemail was freaking PRICELESS woman! Congrats and I can't wait to follw your latest journey.

Four, lemme repeat...F O U R long years I have been waiting for this. I go in Oct3. to set a date. *muah* You don't know it, but watching your vids has been keeping me positive and motivated. Thanks.
Congrats!!! Does your plastic surgeon accept insurance as payment? I'm mentally ready to do this but not financially, and my current company doesn't pay for it (Cigna) ... but I'm switching to Medcost in January and wondering if they cover and if I'll have to go with a surgeon that will accept it. Lemme know what you know. Way to go for you!!!
I was the first one to view your video last nite but since it was under maintanance I could not respond, so very happy for you!! Hang on your on another wild ride& its great that we will be able to come along for the ride ... thanks for sharing
