Going off of the fact that Coheed use's Standard and 1/2step tuning. I would go with they are in one of the two. I am almost certain they are in a 1/2step tuning... i know this post is a 2months late but meh, if it helps it helps.

its not really all that common for a rightie to play open handed, only the bold and brave. Some lefties actually learn to play open- handed on a standard set up because normally when bands share a set in live shows the left handed just wont have time to flip the entire set around. I think Josh just started off as a lefty on a standard kit.

the way he plays. right handed players usually hit the hi-hat with their right and the snare with their left. If you look the drummer here uses his left for the hi-hat and right for the snare. Its no guarentee he's left handed but still.
