Very nice documentary. Any recommendations to fit EU standards for e-bikes:
1. max. 250W motor, 2. the motor must stop working when the speed exceeds 25 km/h, and 3. the motor must only work when the pedals are being activated.
It's no problem to have kits come with these specifications. Initially my kits came with the pedal sensor and brake levers but I found they were just potential causes of problems and even a touch dangerous so don't get them anymore. Motor power is controlled much better with a throttle, the throttle is very useful for crossing roads and fine control around certain areas while you never know exactly when the power will engage when using the pedal activation. Cheers
I would really love an electric bike like that lol... Even if it needed to be charged everyday or so. Does it allow you to pedal if you want and then function electric when you don't? Is it possible to buy something like the 2000W petal looking bike. I'd ride that to work :D.
Yes, of course you can pedal. That's the beauty of an electric bicycle - you actually get a pretty good workout as well - it's a really nice style of exercise too.
I just loved your video, well presented and informative plus a great choice of music, i hope all goes well for you and the electric bike business cause we all need to start thinking of life without oil... a big thumbs up mate

A few different factories for the motors around Jiangsu/Changzhou. Batteries come from Japanese factory and are put together in a Hong Kong factory.

too bad the roads don't make much allowances for bikes in some areas.
i'm riding less and less around here, for fear of my life :(

nice one matt, uber envious re: that 2000W beauty... do you think the police would notice that on the streets in australia ;)
naughteedesign 1 year ago
Who knows? Perhaps they would and perhaps not. It certainly would be in breach of the ambiguous 200W law!

i guess you could always claim you are decimal point deficient... "uh? oh 200, i thought it was 2000 officer"

Great stuff.
Just one small comment - the sound levels are really inconsistent.
