Well you could use the Recon Class with the G3 or WWII Thompson so you could use your Motion Mines, that's useful

I agree on Recon. I play Bc2 all the time and when there is a Recon on Squad Rush we almost never win.

I disagree about Recon being useless, they have radar grenades which are a godsend and can tout shotguns for up close crate defense, also they have C4 which can destroy some buildings like the one on Port Valdez. Only one recon though. IMO team should be (with people that love their respective class) :

1. Medic 2. Medic 3. Assault 4. Recon. Engineer is anti vehicle for the most part, (they can be ok up close) but on this gametype there are no vehicles.

A forward recon can be very valuable in regular mode. I always play forward recon, spam motion sensors so my entire team has better awareness of where the enemy is, and roll with mortars for taking down buildings and thinning out hidey holes, and a shotgun to get upclose and personal. Recon gets a bad rep unnecessarily, because it's not the class that is potentially useless, but rather the way in which a player chooses to use that class.

hey also a good tip would actually be a recon on the attacker side some snipers in hardcore find amazing spots where they are not seen and can see the bomb site and kill the people trying to arm or disarm the charge....they can also be used as local spawns so your team mates dont have to run as far

Also you forgot it takes longer to plant. A good attacking class(and defending if you have other medics) is assault class with XM8 P and everything else is preference. I usually use assault on both sides and do fantastic(20+ kills with 0-2 deaths) but i may start using a medic.

It's hard to really call it camping in this game mode IF you are defending the bomb and not just sitting in a corner in spawn. reason being every camping spot usual has a counter that the enemy can kill them with by blowing through the wall they're sitting in. in games like COD camping is so prevalent because you can't blow up walls and sometimes camping spots are very hard to flush people out of.

I Think the recon class is good for squad rush because they can have the shoutgun or something else and can toss the Motion Sensor to show your teammate the enemy.

NEVER sit by the bomb and look at a door. The chances of you surviving when the guy comes back are low as any explosive > you behind walls

Also on core, recon is one of the most useful classes as they have motion ballsacks. Assualt wookies are very usefull.

great video, i play recon on sqaud rush, not the sniping camping kind.

i run with vvs with red dot, m1919 and c4. motion cencors help alot really. on attack i get to the objective, throw c4 and motion cencor in the area and then arm it. then i find a "safe" spot and wait for enemies to pop op on the mini map. i blow them with the c4 that will also do objective damage and there from i just take them out up close when they move in, with my teammates.

Recon can be useful. G3+1911+C4 with extra explosives and magnum or AR specialization. Sensors are useful. C4 can be placed on and around the target in attack mode to damage and repel enemies. Recon does NOT have to use a SR.

I personally love to use the C4 burst strategy as attacking team the set up consists of

1 medic

2 assaults

1 recons

one assault and one recon take a shotgun and c4 and try to blast the m-com station away as fast as possible: VERY EFFECTIVE. You can get up to 2500 in about 2 minutes in one rush game as recon or assault

@psyrevenge C4 and explosives on Com station was nerfed during last patch, so it's most likely not as effective nowadays.

As for the video : a lot of great tips, I would add one though :

You don't need to be looking at the station when diffusing / planting the bomb ! Get near it, punch "use" button, even if you don't look at the crate it will work. That lets you see what's coming at you !

See at 6:55 ? he could watch people coming, much better than looking at the station ;)

Recon can keep a good spotter for squad rush on offensive. As for defensive just pick a spot where there going to rush and have fun hunting. Now if your a average recon player DONT CHOOSE recon.

yeah i completely disagree about the recon thing...i use a VSS with a red dot and throw motion sensors. if you've got a medic and a resupply guy, you're good to go. the sensors help out huge on some maps.

I must say that you´r wrong when i comes to "Not" using the reconclass when your on defence. If you ask me its perfect, use your motion scensors to detect enemies. but do NOT use a sniper rifle, use a shotgun or the G3, they have great stopping power and even with the shotgun you can get kills on long distice if you know how to handle your wepon!

People complain alot about the graphics of this game compared to MW2, thats because this engine demands alot more hardware then a normal unreal engine (caused to destuction 2.0) so the graphics are pretty bad on PS3 and Xbox but if you play it on a good computer the graphics are the best out there, way better than MW2 and Crysis,

i dont have recording equipment so i have to give tips through other people, when i m on defense, i always use an assault class and blow through a wall and camp at a distance but with perfect sight of the bomb. like on port valdez, i camp on top of the hill on the defenders deployment and level all of the trees and take out the wall, anyone in the building can barely see you and you and can always see them and defend perfectly.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 is the very best First Person Shooter in the last twenty years. It is better than every other game. If you have not before now, you need to get it from BFBC2DownloadXcom (replace X with . ). Me and my friends did it and it operates fantastic.

I found this vid very informative, I disagree with the campy beginning though. It was a good strategy and you got 3 kills I believe, but its just not my style. Not using recon for an attacker is great advice. Shoot the medic first is my strategy too, unless there is a recon right next to him...the recon is a higher value in my opinion because he generally has better optics, and that friggin mortar strike. But the gameplay is to remove their tickets, point taken.

I love your videos they are very informative. But in squad rush the recon class is the second most important class there is next to the medic. The sniper rifles I agree are useless unless your going in after the kill but I run the G3 with recon for the sensor balls. Try it out its amazing RECON G3/magnum ammo/extra ammo upgrade. It is my favorite class on squad rush. But now that I have platinum'd the G3 I might move to the m14. Seriously try it out. Your basically an assault with sensor balls.

I think it takes 30 seconds to start regenerating and then you regenerate like 2% every second, but i'm not entirely sure about that. Just google Bad Company 2 weapon stats for more information

you could just use the tommy or the g3 on a recon class, but a g3 on assault is good and if you use c4 on the crate you can take it down fast, takes 10 total, have 2 guys do it 5 each (you can lay a max of 6) and thats much better than giving your position away with arming

use c4 with explosives upgrade for 6 c4. Team up with 1 buddy, have the other 2 distract the defenders. Rush in with buddy, plant all 12 c4 (you and him) and detonate. Next Base!

Great advice, but I take exception with one thing. If you're not playing on hardcore and you're defending the crate its actually very beneficial to have one sniper in your group. We usually run with two assaults, a medic, and then the sniper who spots for us from any high ground and gets the occasional kill. This configuration obviously wouldn't be as effective on hardcore, although you could still have the sniper verbally identify where your opponents were coming from.
