I made one like that in kenex. (Manual)

I calculated if I use 30 gears it would spin 36 BILLION times on every rotation.

I used the largest possible and smallest possible gears, but unfortunatly when I turned the handle, the rods snapped. >.<

The purpose of this project was to see if a single lego NXT motor was capable of putting out over 1,000 RPM. I didn't need a functional fan for anything.

Easily 1k RPMs.. The gear set up proves it and no, I would not tear itself apart from "centrifical force" becaus e it has supports for the fan, weights close to 3 pounds and its ran by a motor. Centrifical force is with forces such as water, wind, earth, and what ever else man wants to drop at a fast speed to make a wheel spin.

No, i calculated it out. It takes one second for the bottom large gear to make a full rotation, and in each rotation the fan blade turns 17 times. 17*60=1,020, so its about 1,000 rpm.

first of all, its probably balanced, second its called centrifugal force and that only works on spinning things if theyr out of balance
