Barrera beat Naz at the end of his career, doing the same thing Leonard did with Hagler and Lewis did with Holyfield, waiting until he saw a decline in their skill that could be exploited, and once Naz abandoned his footwork and solely went for one-punch KOs ala Tyson, he was vulnerable, and Barrera brilliantly exploited that.

Also true that his ego was his downfall. The real reason was that he stopped training. He sparred only 12 rounds in 4 months for the Barrera fight.

Mayweather has a bigger ego but he has not fallen yet because he actually trains unlike Hamed who really thought all he had to do was turn up and he'd already won. And particular for this fight he was nervous.Naseem was huge in the UK.He was never nervous before any of his fights and prepared by dancing and playing pool. In this particular fight he admitted he was nervous which was a rare thing for Hamed. He had no tension before a fight.

Naseem had a huge talent, unbelievable power for his weight but was a flawed character with flawed technique but that was part of the make up that made him such a great entertainer and one off character. Apart from Barrera his opponents were were either not very good or past their best. If he studied the game more ,had better form he would have been unbeatable but I don't think that is what he wanted apart from the Barrera fight and the aftermath his career was what he dreamed of.

I don't believe you are a more powerful puncher than naseem. Naseem is around 130 pounds and a BOXER. That would make you 180 lbs and I'm 194. There is no way I could punch harder than him and neither could you. Weight is not necessarily a factor.

@umyafzal He's just a man, that's been trained to punch hard. The difference between him and most people is his ability to land them, THAT'S what makes him a boxer, not his power. It's not hard to learn to punch as hard as a boxer, in fact, it takes a minimal amount of training in order to do it. Anyone that's been training in martial arts, boxing or really any unarmed combat for a few years, can punch as hard as a boxer can. What makes these champions special is their ability to land them.

Barrera rinsed naseem, Morales would have done the same, pacquiao would have done him, marquez would have done him. I think it's a shame that nas ended his career like a coward. He got beat and couldn't handle it, and that is not a hallmark of a great fighter, it's the hallmark of a whimp. Nas was great and he'll be remembered as a class act, but he could have been a hall of famer if he'd had more bottle.
