Hello everybody I have made a student film version of this story, its on my channel. Please give it a wacth and feel free to let me know what you think.
@RockyBalboa211 Yes great but so sad!poor little dear. She dies at the end.But this version is way better than the 1929 movie which was shot with a lady of at least 20 whereas the tale is about a little girl and not a teenager or woman. The movie sucks!but this one is GREAT VERY BEAUTIFUL.
Aww, such a sad tale. A poor, freezing girl seeing wonderful things that aren't really there. You can see her desperation as she lights up a bundle of matches at once towards the end. But at least she had a happy ending with her mother, now together & safe in Heaven.
My dad had this movie and every Christmas he would get out the old projector and play this movie for us. It wasn't Christmas unless we saw this movie. It sure brings back many good memories of my childhood. Just wish AMC and other TV stations would play these old movies at Christmas so the younger generartion could see them. Also Heidi with Shirley Temple is another great Christmas Classic. Those where the good old days.
@chelseyjoblum hi i was just wondering if you could tell me how long the movie the little match girl was i am trying to find the orginial movie i can only find short ones about 10 min. long and could you tell me the your girls name i have been trying for years to get this movie thanks for all your help
The singing in the last 25 seconds of this film, does anyone know the name of the piece, or the name of the singers? I'd love to find more music like that.
I read this recently because I found the whole collection of them in one book in a charity shop for £1 so I brought it and I'm really enjoying them. Are you sure they're for children though?
@powergirl07 Andersens, Grimm brother and even Sherezada´s(the thousand and one nights) are sad, and mature, but that is the reason why they are timeless classic. You will be thrill, and crying while smiling. This tales are for everyone, maybe they are dark, maybe they will make you blue, but the messeges and the lessons in this stories worth every tear. They are beautiful in all the meaning of the word.
This is one of the more obscure film versions of HCA's famous tale. It is a 1954 release of a French film produced 2 years earlier. The director is Jean Benoit-Levy, and in the cast is ballet star Janine Charrat! It is included in the collection "150 Cartoon Favorites" . In the 1938 version an angel is substituted for the grandmother. Here it is the "lost" mother.
hans christian andersen wrote the little mermaid except his version is gruesome and not cheery like this...ive read this book the ending is good but sad
The original was this one it was only ever no more than ten minutes long :)

I'd much rather read the original story than see this none sense ever again! They made a mockery of a beautifully sad, but peaceful story.
