Im japanese and though i may not walk like that my feet do point inwards time to time hardly noticeable though, but if you think we do it because we think its cute thats insulting. Its something we are born with sometimes because we learn to walk much faster than normal kids do even though our bones haven't fully been able to handle it.

After talking to others many japanese women will walk fine without shoes, some walk pigeon toed with only shoes on, others do it because it's cute/kawaii... maybe it is the sitting style, though ;)

There have been research on this. And the result is inconclusive whether or not the pigeon walking is due to Japanese seiza. One hypothetical answer given by JFA (Japanese Fashion association) is that some girls think its cute to walk like a pigeon.

However, it also states that this condition is promptly due to the fact japanese women dont get enough calcium which causes deformation of the bones (and this is true in medical history).

One reason why feet are like that because of some bone or serious posture issues. Especially females who wear high heels which screws up their feet and spine.

Very few girls, especially this type, sit in Seiza. Seiza does not make anyone walk like this, in fact, in Yoga, Vajrasana which is identical to Seiza does not produce deformities or abnormal gates.

The current source of this is anime characters, which are often drawn with their toes pointed inwards; not surprisingly, these girls consciously choose to imitate it. haven't you realized yet that some Japanese 'choose' to look dumb? it's not genetic.
