It is great overall. But my only complaint is that on some sound settings, certain notes don't flow with others correctly. it it off-tone by a tiny bit.
Got the same - I don't play the piano that much, but after 3 months, the keys got wobbly, giving out this awful sound - I have AP 620. I could have it repaired with the guarantee, but when I think of sending the stuff 400 kilometres away (not even mentioning the cost) I somehow feel resigned.
@Blacckkfire naw that's the downfall of the casio's. especially the older ones. Right now it's a click, soon it will be a wobble. They just aren't built to last. Don't care what anyone says more then enough people bitchn to customer service is proof enough for me to shove it away with a yardstick.
maybe its just me but what piano is this modeled after? It seems like the sound is dulled out. And not in a warm way, the kawai is a warm sounding make, this is like, well like a cheap keyboard with a screen.
I can only say for myself, but I tried a few digital pianos, before deciding to go for AP 620. I love Yamahas (mostly because I owned several their keyboards), but their pianos which would satisfy my needs both sound and design wise were way too expensive for me.
I tried YDP 141, 161 (not bad, but just few functions), Roland RP 201 (good, but the keys were somewhat light), Korg LP 350 (only 60 polyphony and those HUGE gaps between some keys!), went for AP 620 and I'm really satisfied.
Like I said, I own the AP-620 and for the money you pay it's not bad at all. If you've been playing for a while, have 5-10k to spend, and want the best possible sample and tons of options then you'll go with either yamaha or roland (in a digital of course - for that kind of money you can get a nice vertical).
There's a huge difference between yamaha's arius line and their clavinovas. The AP-620 is an arius and clavinova CLP killer IMHO. The Clavinova CVPs are in a different class, however.
The yamaha is nicer, but for the price you pay for their name I'd go with a CVP. If you look around ebay you'll find a company that undercuts most dealers so that you can pay the same amount for the CVP-501 that you would have paid for the CLP-320.
If you only want to spend around $1200 then get the AP-620. I'm happy with it. My plan is to get a Clavinova in a few years once I can play a bit better.
i would buy casio because yamaha is ower priced and it offers wery little compared to casio ap 620... Link below is a great blog that will help you a lot.
Hi, need help. i can't decide which digital piano to get for my daughter, she is a beginner 12yrs old . i m looking at Yamaha CLP320 or Casio AP620 .tnx.
@reikaelogy1 get the yamaha. Yamaha is an overall better company as they actually make grand pianos. If she's a beginner and you don't care for the sound quality and etc, go for the casio.
I realy like this piano but i am also worried about resistence of the keys and intensety expression,weight...does anybody knows if casio has solved this problem?i am also considering kawai 23 or 31 but casio has more everything for less money....any user of this casio here?
Is this piano kind of "too short"? I compared the height with Yamaha 223 and casio ap 620 has 55.6 (W) x 19.4 (D) x 23.7 (H) but yamaha 223 has 56/23/33 I believe. I'm think to buy ap620 or yamaha v240 or Yamaha ydp181 . Please help me
hi, i just bought the casio ap-620 and i am very pleased with it. it has the feel of a real piano but it doesn't pretend to be one (most other products in this price range offer only a few sounds, no rhytms...). for me, the big advantage is that it can easily be connected to a computer via USB (plug&play), and can also be used as a midi controler... best buy at the moment
The Celviano AP-620 is very fantastic... I have to buy a digital piano and I like this a lot:) but i'd like to know if in this DP there is the "DUAL" function as in YAMAHA CLAVINOVA that allows pianist to play strings&piano at the same time (not split but the combination of two tones as string&piano or choir&piano)... is there anyone to know the answer? :) thanks... bye:)
Hi BrightSoul89. I think that Casio Celviano AP-620 has the layer function, because the other models (included older) have it. I'm going to buy this piano too. Did you try it? I did, but what do you think really? Thanks.
Hi byte300:) thanks for answer:). I didn't try this model :( but others CASIO models and the touch is good but the quality of the sound in this model seems improved respect them:). I can say an opinion about it only watching this video because this model costs about 1500 € and in my city there aren't markets that sell DPs in this price:( so i have to order it without try it:( you said have tried it. What do u think about it? In your opinion sound and touch are better than YAMAHA CLP 330?
Hi again. I think touch is very good because Yamaha Clavinova uses Tri-Sensor Scaled Hammer Action. Perhaps the touch of the highest Clavinova models is better because they use natural wood. But don't worry, it's very good in Casio AP-620. The sound, very good too. And if you don't like any piano, you have 12 for choose (6 modern and 6 classic). Now Casio have more and new features than Yamaha. For example, it has 128 levels of dinamics, and Yamaha only 4. Bye, and thanks for answer me!
Thank you for the answer :) I ordered it and I'm looking forward to play it:):) Do u have casio ap-620??? Is it a good choice in your opinion as Digital Pianos???:)byee:)
It is great overall. But my only complaint is that on some sound settings, certain notes don't flow with others correctly. it it off-tone by a tiny bit.

celviano AL 100R and AL 150 R are very good piano. and that lighting key make it easy to learn new songs.

@wing200q Yamaha YDP-223 is 53 15/16" x 20 3/8" x 33 7/16" based on Yamaha USA website.
The Casio is "long enough".

@wing200q It is not "too short" it has 88 keys and as many features as a yamaha does
