I like using the gunner with rapid fire capability, plenty of cluster shot and piercing rounds, hates those, plenty of flashbombs, trick is to get as close to him as possible, but not too close but enough to give you distance when he tries to charge at you and his ear-splitting roars, shoot off a couple of rounds then dodge to the side or run to the side with your gun still out, keep following the pattern till it weakens chase it back to its cave, let it fall asleep, run to it lay big bombs, end

Depends on your style and what you would like to do most. My first time, I used Garuga armor gemmed for Reckless Abandon (Expert Gems), the Garuga Mask and gems to get High-Grade Earplug. Being stunned or knocked around by the roar can cause trouble.

I haven't tried Gunner on him yet. I'm still mastering Blademaster with him.

Tigrex seems to be when you need to start looking at armor skills rather than rating. Pick your skills and find the armor to get them for you.

all u really need to beat a tigrex is a great sword with well known charge spots, search up on youtube tigrex gs chrage guide and youll pretty much have the tigrex done for. Oh and ps try to get a gs with thndr attribute =D and if u ignore all of that just get a katana with thndr attribute

its very difficult at first, the type of armor and weapons you get are limited at first, but keep doing those quests and check with the crafter to look for equipment updates, save your money, experiment with combining, explore, mine, gather, get pokke points. basically take it a step at a time with quests, pretty soon youll be racking up ranks and new weapons

Founght a few normal gravios today, the small fire cloud after the black gravios' lazor and his more frequent side barges seem to be the key factor in my failure.

Try using the ceanataur bow. Bring shit to make poison coatings, too. Black Gravios takes massive damage from poison. Work on breaking his chest open then start hitting him in the chest with your arrows. Also, make sure you have hearing protection because that roar will rock your world.

Well I always do the Tigrex in the mountains with Full Rathalos (not soul) upgraded 5 times each and the Devil Slicer weapon, I have yet to try the desert one and I will try it soon, as for the Tigrex Longsword, i suggest you DONT use it, minus affinity i THINK will lessen your crit chance or something, all i know is that you DONT want minus affinity, you need +affinity to waste the monster your fighting, Use the Devil Slicer, it's better imo.

You can make a shock trap by combining a trap tool with a genprey fang. You can only carry one shocktrap at a time. But you can carry 2 trap tools. So during a quest you can use a maximum of 4 shock traps:

-1 portable shock trap (supply)

-1 normal shock trap

-2 trap tools

-2 genprey fangs

After you use your normal shock trap, you have to combine a new one in the field. it helps if you bring combo guide 1 and 2 for a 100% success rate.
