I'm a MAJOR Jak/Ashelin fan - I don't like Jak and Keira together AT ALL. I just think that Ashelin is more right for Jak (she's more of his "type"). :)

And I'm with you on the Jak/Ashelin thing - Kiera's just too much of a good girl for Jak in the end, Ashelin's a far better fit.

Keira: Is a better girly type as she only has eyes for Jak, but would be totally useless if Metal Heads/ KG robots/ Dark Creatures/ Marauders etc launched a surprise attack.

Ashelin: Would flirt with anyone/anything/anywhere. Would be able to immediately launch into action against an incomeing attack from any party.

Truth be told, I think Keira is more of a girlfriend type girl for Jak, but Ashelin is the sexier and she can fight, which is always a bonus. But then again, Ashelin would flirt with a floormop if noone else was aound so i think both girls have their downsides.

Personally? Probably the latter. Given that my girlfriend knows approximately zippo, nada, zero about the Jak series, however, I felt it appropriate to take a wee bit of artistic license. ;)

Personally, I've always liked the whole bad girl thing a bit more - yeah, Kiera was sweet and lovely and romantic and all that good stuff, but let's face it - hand to hand, with a few hundred KG bots and Metalheads encroaching on city territory, I'd rather have Ashelin than Kiera standing by my side any day.

In any case, I have a habit of not taking fictional media seriously - it is, after all, fiction. ;)
