  • And everybody's struggling now. Even "safe"degrees are seeing jobs cut. The big hospital in my state just laid off a ton of hospital staff and nurses earlier this month. Budget cuts. Teachers are being cut in my state left and right too. Nobody's safe right now unfortunately......but when the economy does come back strong, those with some education will be better suited. Most professional jobs these days want you to have a degree in something. Be real.

  • The real problem is not having a degree and being unemployed, it's just that there aren't enough jobs to go around. Grads and nongrads are suffering now just the same. The abundance of jobs we do see now are low skill work that anybody can do - McDonald's, Walmart, general labor jobs. Sure, you don't need a degree for that, but that's mainly what is available now that the economy is in the hole. Don't write off education as a bad thing. If times were booming, bet you wouldn't feel this way.

  • Quit getting degrees in fields that have been saturated for decades. Adjust to the changing economy.

  • You're saying what needs to be said; keep up the good work and mind the trolls. Good videos. It is a needed shift in perspective.

  • @emknightauthor thanks a lot! I appreciate it. Thanks for watching.

  • Let's look at the total earnings of people with high school vs. people with degrees. If you're going to go to university, take something that is difficult and in damand. Don't bitch cause you can't find a job with an arts or phsycology degree, any moron can get these with multiple guess exams.

This guy is an idiot. Obviously he doesn't have a degree or a job, if he's making these videos on you tube.

  • @Kylepersonal Who's an idiot? Someone who makes ridiculous assumptions and non sequiturs perhaps?

  • Perhaps because it's a lot easier to get a job at McDonald's than it is to get a non-entry-level job.

  • @Nerblette Hey my dad works at McDonald's. What is so bad about that?

  • @DracoPilamZ I didn't say it was bad, I said it's easier to get a job at McDonald's than a non-entry-level job. You fill out an application at Mickey D's and you're in, wheras other jobs can require multiple interviews and background checks, drug tests, college education...

  • @DracoPilamZ

At least your father have a job.

  • this is your worst video. the number of college graduates massively outweighs the number of dropouts.

  • @IncoherentCommenter Good point. Just because I didn't mention it in the video does not mean that I am not cognizant of that fact. Regardless of the raw numbers involved, it illustrates the fact that a college degree does not automatically equal a job. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching the videos!

  • @IncoherentCommenter You're comment just answered my assumptions. The definition of an idiot: people that don't go to college. See you next time I order a hamberburger in the drive thru...

  • @Kylepersonal your

  • People who are having troubles with degrees should just move out of the country. That's the best and perhaps only way to make it worth it.

It may be a base arguement; but think about it. If you wanna meet good women, be mobile, or whatever, a traveling qualification is good

  • @SUpersaiyajinjerkbag You are always thinking about women aren't you!?

  • I'm actually glad I dropped out of College. I still CAN'T GET A JOB!!!

  • You do realize that you're basically arguing that one should avoid college AND drop out of high school in order to have the best job outlook.

  • The jobs for college grads are horrible too.

  • @Pill88Dickle

The people who went to college and wasted all the time and money can't even get a sucky job haha

  • Guess the percentage of Engineers that are unemployed. It's 2%. Guess what the % was before the 2008 crash. *Hint* It was also 2%. Paying 100k for law school that you know you can't finish is retarded. Majoring in Bullshit when you have no connections is retarded. Going to an expensive school to study Visual Arts, again, is retarded. All you have to do to make it in life is; not be retarded. It seems we're having more and more problems concerning this today.

  • @TumisHumis

where did you get that number. Also you fail to distinguish the amount of unemployed recently graduated engineer majors. Trust me it is much higher than you think. I've seen too many unemployed engineers or underemployed on unstable contract work. The major you choose is based on what you're good at. I think at the end of the day people must do research into the opportunities their majors offer. If done properly they will know which direction they should look in to seek employment

  • @lordblazer No, the major you choose is just that, the major you choose. If you "choose" to major in visual arts, you'll have trouble finding and keeping a job. If you "choose" Engineering, you won't. Simple.

  • @TumisHumis

that is a matter of opinion getting a job is not based on the major you choose it is based on how well you are in the skill sets that you have, and how well you are at networking, and putting yourself in a position where you are constantly interacting with people of your chosen field. there are unemployed engineers that recently graduated. its tough for everyone in the US market. graphic design is quite big if you're willing to travel and freelance, etc. i did intl studies though

  • @TumisHumis

and I didn't have an unemployment problem with my degree btw and it isn't in engineering. you will be surprised, but a lot of people are earning engineering degrees with what you have in mind, but they aren't necessarily all going to find full employment its quite the myth. In my field you gain experience through internships its extremely versatile, and your employment prospects comes from where and who you network with. I've networked worldwide. I do not have problems.

  • @lordblazer Percentages don't lie, some people are more marketable than others, but you can't argue any degree is better than Engineering for employment purposes.

  • @TumisHumis

you can argue percentages when its pulled out of one's ass. Yes some people are more marketable, but also realize this depends entirely on field, and industry. Engineering right now is quite competitive. If you struggled more than usual to get that degree prepare for a mediocre career in engineering. This is why I say prepare yourself and be excellent at it. You will have nothing to worry about so long as you stick in there. You aren't getting hired for simply having that paper.

  • @lordblazer A more competitive field would be the douchbag that joined the peace corps and is trying to find a job through international networking. That's far more competitive than ANYTHING else I can think of. In terms of school, your degree is a joke. In terms of work experience, you joined the fucking Peace Corps.

  • @TumisHumis

yea and before that I worked in international trade and transaction in Istanbul, before that interned with several banks, and ngo. Peace Corps is a pretty respectable thing to do. believe it or not it adds to your experience, employers see it as a sign of dedication. Also before those internships while I was studying overseas I had always held some job while studying. I'm sorry to say, but I don't have any of the problems others do, but I worked hard to do it. Yea I'm competitive.

  • @TumisHumis

Also if you think its easy then you join the peace corps? I hope no one takes advice from you because you obviously don't know what the next gen should be doing seeing that you are bashing Peace Corps, and viewing networking internationally as some kind of joke. You will set people up for failure if they listen to you and keep their heads down instead of doing the right thing and properly research what they want to do, and become the best at it while holding their heads up high

  • @lordblazer Well, if you've ever been in the Peace Corps, it absolutly disqualifies you for ever joining the service (Yes, the real one). Which is a fall-back for many highschool graduates, and a terrific goal for college graduates (Officers). Enjoy your life as a peace-corps international study, one day you'll be qualified to work in a library.

  • @TumisHumis

yea, I will enjoy my program and earn my MBA in int'l business to boot. I'm sure I will get something out of it more than the library. But hey you're an expert on futurology. I cannot question an infallible person such as yourself.

  • @lordblazer

Internships are great but did you get a full time offer by graduation?

  • @FutureCACPA

Where did you get internships out of that? I've held a few internships, but currently not looking for full time positions on my current career track. I don't have time for that. I'm getting ready to start my graduate program in Jan. a full time position can set me back if I up and leave. xD.. Recently got a headhunting job offer in Singapore, but the pay isn't so good. If I work instead of doing grad school will teach english in japan. got an interview coming up for that.

  • @TumisHumis

Also please have the balls to tell this to Chris Matthews, and many other returned pcvs because I am sure they are all working in libraries.

  • @TumisHumis

currently though I am pretty much enjoying my time with the fam, working part-time as a tutor and also currently doing freelance writing. Actually make about 3k a month from doing it. debating to do george mason in Jan. or work in Japan for a year and save 20k, and do graduate school at university of oslo Master's international environmental and energy law.. Tuition free btw, just gotta pay a 68 euro fee each semester. also looking at intl management at university of london.

  • @lordblazer

MBA's aren't worth anything but a pile of student loans without real world experience. With the exception of some ivy league schools.

  • @FutureCACPA You would think MBA's could get hired as an assistant ... hello.

  • @dutytocareforothers

It really depends. MBA's aren't that useful unless they are going to the right person in the right field. Some MBA programs only let in those they know will command high salaries at graduation. For example give a registered nurse that already makes 100k an MBA then brag that your program's graduates earn an average of 100k at graduation. Then people assume that if they are admitted and attend the program they will make 100k. Completely irrational......

  • @FutureCACPA Thank you for exposing that trickery. I hate universities. They are clearly managed by scam artists with high IQs. You should check out more of my lecture series.

  • @lordblazer GMU is a good school, but this "Master's International environmental energy law" sounds like a joke. If that's what you want to do, that's your prerogative, but the European Union is falling apart, China/Russia/India don't give a damn about international environmental law, and the U.S isn't going to be involved regardless. I don't see that producing a job beyond tutoring, but enjoy your time with your family, and Good Luck.

  • @TumisHumis

International Environmental and energy law is a program at University of Oslo. GMU program I applied for is Public Administration. I also applied for a program at University of London International Management. Norway btw isn't in the EU so what are you talking about? You really aren't offering solutions bur you are saying everyone's ideas are shit. At the same time you clearly mixed up the things I mentioned. anyway energy law will matter soon for varying reasons.

  • @TumisHumis

also I want to bring up that its going to matter. as cap and trade goes into effect, having an understanding of international standards for environmental law will be in demand for companies. Also energy law will be in demand as exploration for oil in the arctic circle expands due to the melting ice caps and the opening trade routes. You do not know what is going on around the world. Just general shit like the BRIC countries you listed.

  • @lordblazer If you took a few math classes you wouldn't have to worry about a new energy law being passed to find employment. Just wanted to bring that up.

  • @TumisHumis

what? I've completed business calc 1 $ 2, completed game theory, adv macro and micro economics, etc etc. I am not worried about my future man. You keep coming up with reasons as to why no one is ever going to get a job unless you become an engineer, I am saying that is ridiculous you wouldn't last a day in engineering if you are doing it for the money. funny you aren't saying anything about the other programs, but you fail the see the value of how new situations will create a need.

  • @TumisHumis

with that being said I am not having employment issues man. You sound like someone who gives people crap for studying philosophy. To be honest they can fair alright if they either pick up a second major in HR or get a Master's in psychology. It'll make for a kickass resume. If employers think like you in the US they can find a living in another country quite easily especially since its a good combo for executive headhunting/recruiting/interviewing. There are many jobs out there

  • @TumisHumis

with that being said. I hope people do get degrees. Also I hope they think about what they want to do with their degrees. If they want to get into a certain field they need to find out what they need to earn to get there. IF you are going to college, and have no idea what you want to do, and they listen to you and just take engineering. They're being set up for failure especially if they lack the talent to get through those programs. Anyway yes you are idiotic. don't talk to me.

  • @TumisHumis

because for every field you choose to be in. You have to know your stuff, and be able to demonstrate it. Not everyone with an engineer degree has that. A lot of people I have seen in engineering courses that had no business being there. Sow hat are their options? Do you just tell them to not go to University. What if they have other goals that involve a BA? If it is just about getting a job for you, then go to trade school. Seriously become a garbage truck driver they make money

  • @TumisHumis also I wanted to point out that I have a friend who studied industrial engineering. Because he got his degree in America you got turned down from a job offer in Germany because they said he lacked the proper coursework that he needed to know to do the job.The US education system has really gotten crappy. Anyway no matter what field you are in. I don't think your future lies in America if you have the degree, and you're in your 20s now. Better expat it and make dat money.you stay poor

  • @lordblazer U.S public education isn't the best in the world, no one is saying that. U.S private education IS however the best in the world, and you'd be hard pressed to find one engineering school from anywhere on the planet that could compete with an average school here. No degree qualifies you to work, engineers do internships for experience.

  • @TumisHumis

actually there are a number of schools in Japan, Gemerna,y Norway, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, China, South Africa, Brazil, S. Korea, Argentina, Canada, United Kingdom, France that can compete with schools in the US. A lot of the engineering schools that are in the top 50 in the world are not located in the US, but America does have a number of them in the top 50. Your very American centric worldview is what limits you. I have steady employment albeit not in America

  • @lordblazer I'd say that more than 40 of the top 50 engineering school are located in America. Mind you that America is about 4% of the population of the world. America is the only country in history founded upon the thinking mind, and to question America as the center of knowledge and achievement is to overlook every piece of technology you've ever benifited from. You seem to be striving to be a mooch off tax payers, it's a shame.

  • I tried college but quit. College did nothing for me or any career options. I have a good job. $15/hour + bonus. I work two days a month and make my rent. Great job with no college.

  • @whyyesyes that's cool. I went to college knowing what I wanted to do, and I have never had any regrets about it. Really glad to have earned my degree preparing for Peace Corps now. During my years in college I had a lot of international experience through internships and research trips so I think it depends on how you use your time in college, and network properly to find rare opportunities. If the goal is to live comfortably and discover yourself then you are on the right track.

  • If 2000 people go to college and seek jobs and then 100 people drop of high school and seek jobs, I would expect more of the people in this group without jobs to be college graduates. Even if all 100 drop out are unemployed, I would expect more than 100 of the 200 graduates to be unemployed also. We must consider the amount from each group. He talks as if most people drop out or atleast a number comparable to those who go to college drop of from high school.

  • 2 factors to consider that would lower dropout unemployment:

    1. College people arent desperate enough to take a job as a janitor, college dropouts are

    2. A lot of kids who are extremely entitled into some kind of family business or trust fund babies see no need to try hard in high school, as their parents already perfectly lined up their futures for them. I saw this with some of the "rich kids" at my high school dropping out then doing just fine thanks to connections.

  • @calidude512 Not true I am going for my second job interview for a custodian position. Not only I went to grad school and have a BA. I am also a navy veteran. Maybe I should start selling weed at my old campus to make some money. lmao......

  • Lots of jobs in the svc industry: fast food, waiting tables, etc. Those jobs can't be outsourced to 3rd world countries. College grads r "overqualified" &employers just won't hire us.They know coll grads r intelligent enough 2 demand better pay &work conditions so they prefer to hire immigrants/high school students (2 scared or dumb to demand anything better.)It's all pt of the plan to turn this country into a 3rd world cntry where there's no regulation over big business &ppl r 2poor2 fight back

  • I don't think its fair to put out the graduate unemployment rate when it doesn't reflect the overall unemployment rate of all degree holders. It isn't a surprise that Graduate students can be over qualified for certain jobs and/or not want to get part jobs or jobs that didn't require their degree. This isn't a college's fault but the effects of specialization. When you choose a major and specialize you invest yourself to that field and limit yourself to that field.

  • Our educational system sucks. We should take a note from Europe, but you know we never will. We will live in eternal arrogance (aka "exceptionalism").

  • This makes sense now, since most employers now can't afford to pay more for

employees . . . only less, or not at all.

The "college crash" is coming, we're already seeing it unfolding.

    Teachers/professors/Administrators reading this:

Put you academia biases aside, and start helping to lower student fees - take a pay/benefit cut, you deserve one, and it's long overdue.

You have jobs, the students don't, yet the students lose money while you're earning money - the school scam for sure.

  • Don'tGoToCollege, I have complimented you before because you are completely on the mark. This video is especially true. I have a Masters and many skills (some I learned in school and some I learned outside). I have not had a fulltime job since 2007. It's not my fault, because I keep apply. Nor did I major in a worthless degree. Instead my field (marketing and communications)is oversaturated. When I see jobs in my field I apply, sometimes get an interview but rarely get that.

  • if it aint havard yale or columbia good luck my friend

  • ...At least unemployed high school dropouts don't have mountains of debt that can never or will take a lifetime to repay LOL

  • i dropped out of college and have so much debt, but i have a better job than some of my high school friends who did graduate

  • @cdm0014 What do you do?

  • @Keitaro2011 I work for myself :) I run an online business

  • @cdm0014 O RLY? How much do you make a month?

  • @Keitaro2011 it depends on how much i work, if i'm lazy i wont make anything if i work like crazy, thousands

  • @cdm0014 Oh, nice! What kind of online business is it?

  • @Keitaro2011 i sell accessories, jewelry supplies, and sometimes precious metals (gold and silver)

  • @cdm0014 Hmmm... How much did you invest into it?

  • @Keitaro2011 hmm the gold/silver maybe around 2k, accessory and jewelry business a lot more i havent kept track lol

  • These vids are interesting and raise some valid points. Yes college is big business in the US and having a marketable skill i.e. electrician, plumber or locksmith can earn you more money relative to many college degrees. However the vid does not take into consideration that many of those without the college degree who are supposedly still employed relative to their college grad counterparts who are not employed are likely working menial jobs with little or no chance of real growth opportunity.

  • If it wasn't for the g.i. bill I would never go to school.

  • thing is the high school dropouts could be working as bin men? In McDonalds and other minimum wage jobs which graduates just don't want to do, so it's misleading this video!

  • First of all I seriously doubt repairing toasters is a good living considering I can buy a new one for less than the cost of a repair on a toaster... second, college grad unemployment is high because people are getting worthless Bachelors degree instead of high payoff training. I guarantanfuckingtee you that any nerd with a computer science AAS commands more salary than a toaster man.

  • wish I saw that graph before I enrolled in college in 2003 lol

  • If you go to school to get rich it may or may not happen. If you drop out of school to get a job it may or may not happen. School, like life, gives us a tone to our being and an informed appreciation for so much we might miss. It enlivens our lives as thinking and creative entities who sometimes build and sometimes destroy, but most important of all it shows the wise how powerful and unlimited they are in what they can be, have, and do. Very simple.

  • Perhaps these statistics are due to lack of highschool dropouts; there are more unemployed bachelor degree bearers who are unemployed, in comparison with those unemployed who've dropped out of highschool , because there are collectively more bachelor degree bearers than there are highschool dropouts.

However, I do see your point with the redundancy of the bachelors degree as any means of getting one a job; this could however be due to a lack of people seeking a useful bachelors degree(Engineer)

  • America employers wants near slave labor. Thats why they have such an easier time finding work.

  • Now a days. employers do not want college grads because they will have to pay them more. So, get degree, move to a country that respects it and let america rot

  • He looks like he's a college dork! More proof college is a scam unless you're pursuing to be a doctors, lawyer, architect, scientist, dsigning rocket ships for NASA, jobs where college is an absolute need but you have to make sure you're not taking worthless courses.

  • @DaSouth123 If you haven't heard that Obama cut funding for NASA that Bush allocated resources during his presidency. So you have thousands of unemployed engineers coming within a few months. If you haven't realized this yet but we have an abundance of jobless graduates for all majors. The reason why is because now we have a global supply of workers instead of a country supply of workers.

  • Go to college and you will major in debt.

  • The wars regarding for-profit vs. public education will soon be nullified over online education and it's soon to be certification. well said eugene680. Long live the freedom of information.

  • Saying "Do not go to college" is incredibly myopic, uninformed and plain stupid. The fact is that most jobs today that pay a living wage require technical college level training at the Associates of Applied Science level.

If you were saying "Don't go get a 4 years college degree" I could agree with what you are trying to say, in part.

  • @callmeishmael6 Silence whipper snapper. Listen to us not the false leaders who have bankrupted our society.

  • @callmeishmael6 I repair toasters and make shit loads of money. No college necessary- yet my friend went to college for two years to learn the same thing. Granted, he's better than me, but I make more money because I actually had no debt from schooling, so running advertisements was a cinch.

TL;DR- I make more than my college friend.

  • @47smithstreetseries You're a BOSS - in the "cool" sense and literally LOL

  • @1XMarksSpot I'll fix your fucking toaster.

  • Great video.

You need to do more on this subject and i can see you have hit a lot of raw nerves with this one. The truth hurts.

Our market based economy is a complete failure and there are many people that have their ego and identity invested in this highly flawed system so they are going to try to kill the messenger.

  • Also, there are way more high school drop outs than college grads...

College should technically be harder to obtain. So, the college pool is highly unemployed from this video.

  • i been had my diploma, yet people with G.E.D.'s get jobs than i do.

even tho i apply many apps every now & then

    nobody didnt return my calls.

yet people who drop-out of high school gets an job & b.s.

    college is an joke anyways.

  • There is a problem with these statistics. They don't take into account that those who have a college degree are applying for jobs that require specific degrees. Many highschool dropouts dropout to get a minimum wage job and help pay bills at home. Whats the solution? Don't pick a shitty major like business or human resources. For something like that if anything just go to community college.

  • @Whisperingknowledge Why is business or human resources a bad major???????

  • @dutytocareforothers Because the job market doesn't have a need for a large number of those people. If you want employment fresh out of college major in a science, or engineering at a good school that can help get you placed in a job upon graduation.

  • I agree with a lot of what you are saying, bro. I know people getting stupid degrees in Humanities and expect there to be a job at graduation. Very dumb However, you cannot deny job security is better for College Grads. As of Feb 2011, the unemployment rate among college graduates is about 4.2 percent, compared to the 9.4 percent unemployment rate for high graduates with no college education.

  • @samayoa95 The humanities teaches you to think critically and to evaluate complex literature on various subjects: this comes in hand for those who want to be teachers or those who wish to work in human resources. Your post is very condescending BTW.

  • @dutytocareforothers I apologize if my post was condescending. I was just speaking directly from my experiences. IE. I have friend who graduated from UC Berkley witha Humanities major. He currently cannot find a job and is doing soft gay porn to pay the rent. On the other hand My former classmate at junior college has a certificate in applied Biology (Note: I certificate, not a degree) and he had a job making $50,000 right out of the gate.

  • @samayoa95 No problem. A lot of majors are not being taken seriously if it is not health-care or engineering or accounting. Humanities is not bad at all and I would hire a humanities to person if they were able to be easily trained on the job. Your friend is probably a medical technologist BTW. They can make good money if they are lucky.

  • I graduated in dec 06 before the economy went in the crapper . It took me 5 months to find a job, and I can say that period was the most awful time in my life. Being an unemployed college grad is the most horrible position to be in life. I did a lot of drinking and some drugs. I started out as an assistant in a position I was overqualified and made 10 bucks an hour. It took another 4 months before i got my break. I guess you have to keep the faith and don't quit.

  • @DaCMasta Soaring above & beyond as a janitor or brick layer? Yeah right! And by the way, u can always go to a trade school or state/city college for dirt cheap and still get quality education & skills to get a job that not just any moron can do. Should'nt one want to acquire a job that is unique to they're own skill set and personality (a job that only they can do in the unique manner in which only they themselves can get it done)? "basic" jobs have workers that can easily be replaced @ a whim.

  • DON'T LISTEN TO THIS OLD FART. HE'S JUST BITTER. GO TO COLLEGE TO INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING THE KIND OF WORK U ACTUALLY WANT! THE AVERAGE WORKING AMERICAN SPENDS ONE THIRD OF THEIR DAY AT WORK, ANOTHER THIRD ASLEEP, AND THE FINAL THIRD TENDING TO FAMILY'S NEEDS. AT LEAST LET A THIRD OF IT BE AT A JOB U CAN ENJOY AND LOVE. IF THE COST OF COLLEGE CONCERNS U, THAN GO TO A STATE OR CITY COLLEGE--BUT NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS. DONT BE A LOSER WITH A CRAP "JOB" THAT NO ONE REALLY WANTS 2 DO.

  • @donbear1983 so if everyone was to go to college and get a PHD, who would do want to do the crappy jobs. Those jobs also need to be done.

  • @110301839 A lot of PhDs are stuck doing the "crappy" jobs. The reality is that there is very little use in the world for PhD holders. However, if you listen to too much government and university advertising about the value of higher ed., it seems there is unlimited opportunity for these people. You'll get stoned to death if you voice an opinion other than every "successful" person needs to get a university degree.

  • @saintgauden When you get into the university it's like a third-world country because you cannot criticize the system or its competency or you will get hunted down by their hired thugs: I kid you not. University programs are worthless unless you are getting into accounting, engineering, or health-care.

  • @donbear1983 State Universities are garbage too. I attended UT Austin. Everyone has that blank stare and the social skills of autistic children. The customer service is boorish. The lectures were useless. Our society is extremely dumb: the SAT and GRE proves absolutely nothing: our society is staring at the twigs and refusing to see the forest (or big picture).

  • Well the truth is americans are stupid.

  • It boils down to this, everyone can't be rich!.. If everyone was wealthy, then no one would do the housework or gardening.

Hiarchy is the key to living in the world today.

When I see a college graduate, I see a person who jumped through a bunch of hoops to get a piece of paper that proved they spent alot of money, dredged through the ultimate boot camp of brain-washing and professor oriented tactics of education to get hired by someone who knows they are mold-able.

  • this is what happens when you get degrees in stupid shit like art history and sport fitness, you cannot get a job! if you chose to go to college and spend your money wisely and earn a degree in something a little more demanding, then you will have no problem finding a job. my friend is majoring in mechanical engineering and has one year left and he's already getting job offers.

  • Don't go to college unless you're trying to get into the NBA or NFL. Andrew Luck just passed up $50 million guaranteed! Wonder what degree's guarantee that much money before you graduate from college.

  • This is what happens when you have a government willing to sell out it's own citizens,

  • So sad that so many educated people in this country do not have the opportunity to contribute to our economy. There's definitely something major wrong when this happens.

  • Well, we can thank Bill Clinton for singing away our middle-class and working-class: in case you haven't heard NAFTA has a slow but surely destructive affect on the educated class too. America was asleep at the wheel and too dumb to demand restrictions on NAFTA. Instead the idiotic masses were obsessed with banning "gay marriage" and fascinated with the affairs of Monica and Bill. All the while Universities are brainwashing the masses to go into more debt and to "earn" a worthless crap degree.

  • @dutytocareforothers Completely on the mark. People didn't pay attention to the destruction of the middle class courtesy of Clinton. I used to be a Clinton supporter until I saw how this affected people I know.

  • I agree with him to an extend, if you major in arts, literature, philosophy, etc... don't go to college.

If you want to major in an intellectually stimulating major like engineering, science, or medicine, college is worth it.

  • @laalfombra221 Thank you!!!!!! someone who finally has sense. well said lad well said

  • @laalfombra221 Scratch science and engineering as those corporations can get cheaper labor in India, China and Russia; this is why we have masters and phds working at home depot.

  • @UnoRaza Yes, Chinese and Russian engineers work cheaper, but they are really drones. They only do what they are told to do. They are not leaders, they are not innovators, and they're not willing to take any risks. That is why American engineers still have good prospects in a bad economy because they are innovators and can lead a successful engineering team. What distinguishes American engineers from most of the Asian ones is the education they receive. (i.e. American universities)

  • @laalfombra221 You're absolutely right. The lack of creativity, 'out of the box', and lateral thinking skills issue was quite apparent in software development; they also over complicate things and lie like hell on their resumes. Walls that spring up in these projects too would cause a HALT.

I'm a software guy with 25 years of contract work; they were 10% of our teams at the start of my career, now Americans are 10% of TEAMS in "AMERIKA". Many of these teams at ATT are now 100% non-Am.

  • As a current student , please dont go to school and choose a shity major like art,

theater, humanities, ect....My sister did and boy does she regret it. Chose a mojor that is competative like the medical field or business. Accountants in my school have no problem finding a job!!

  • It could also mean that the number of high school drop outs are less then the number of college graduates.

  • I'm still in college right now for marketing & i want to dropout soo bad but, the loan money i have 4 school helps me & my family out. i wish it was a way to get out of this bull crap of a school. smh

  • @BASSLINE06 I was in the same situation and the checks that were coming in my family and I were using for things like food and bills. I had to buy books of course which was as high as $130.00 for a chem class 2nd edition (my friend had the same book with a few more pages added in the front) total Rip off! Just pray and get out If your'e really not into it because that was 9 years ago for me and I'm still paying off my loans with not much more to go cause I "got out" when I hit the $10,000 mark

  • without college you make 10thousand bucks a year here in the states if you are an average joe. With associates you can have a CAREER that pays 25k a year, even if you are a high school dropout and have a SKILL which not a lot of kids do these day's and work in fast-food and retail stores or construction you get paid shit and can't afford rent and life in a studio or a shared room that's no way to live you need school that's the bottom line.

  • @romka4567 You will have a good life if you have a good work ethic, you don't over indulge, and you live within your means instead of going to College and being thousands of dollars in debt later on when you want to have a real life! It's a rip off for those who cannot afford it. It's a LIE perpetrated by the Mainstream to keep kids out of the way, pay professors, pay administrators their salaries etc..It's B.S. and kids should be made to feel good about "other options" then just go to College!

  • The Situation is probably making more money than college graduates.......keep fistpumping away!

  • The statistics here don't matter.

The difference between 1.7 million and 2.0 million is small as any who can count can realize.

Now had the differences been between 1 million and 2 million he might have had a small point.

Even then, the statistics have to take into account the piss poor nature of the Us economy where a lot of people are suffering-high school and college graduates alike.

Nice try, DGTC guy. You are foiled again.

  • The benefit of HS drop out.

-Start making money right away. Don't need to wait 4 years to work, if they can find work after that.

-Building up experience/skill during the 4 years.

-No debt and interest to worry.

-Can start living on their own without needing mommy/daddy support during the 4 years.

    The benefit of College degree

-Can make more money, if find a job.

    -"educated"

  • I love these videos so much! It is all so true, especially the videos about academic arrogance. I look at many of my high school teachers, particularly my English teacher who has a masters degree from Stanford. She always seems to be encouraging college education and how it will lead to greater financial gains throughout your life. However when I checked online, it shows that she makes $52,000 were as my father who never went to college makes well over $100,000 by investing in tax liens.

  • hey man, you need work on your speaking ability, because your speeches suck. try going to a junior or community college and take a class.

  • A degree is only used to sort out resumes. I have a Masters in Information Systems and haven't worked in 3 years (ok, 20 hours in a three week period last year). If you don't have relevant skills, you don't work.

  • @richardhutnik I keep hearing janitorial work is expanding at a rapid pace.

  • Dontgotocollege must be a great role model. LOL at all of these uneducated low lifes trying to justify their lack of IQ. Plus its well known in the survey industry that more significant percentage of EMPLOYED graduates dont respond to these survey requests while unemployed are more likely to respond to these survey requests out of frustration.

  • College is a complete waste of time and money. Better to learn a skill like plumbing or electronics. You'll never be out of work and will earn good mony too. Sadly I made the wrong choice but my children wont.

  • @patarciepaul that's all well and good, but if you're interested in teaching, etc. and it is something you're passionate about-spending 40 hrs a week being a plumber or electrician is not going to keep you content in your life-sure you can pay the bills, but if you wake up dreading going to work everyday then it's not worth it. not everyone needs college for their career choice, but EVERYONE owes it to themselves to choose the career they'll love not the career that was "convenient"

  • MY father told me college is only good if you can go for free. Here in GA we have the Hope scholarships funded by the number/stats-illiterates that play the lotto. I have a Bachelor's in Management from Georgia State and the most I have made in the past 4.5 years is 13.75/hr. The scary part is that I'm a white guy with solid credit , work history and no criminal record. THAT IS THE NEW AMERICA FOR YOU!!!

  • You know there is a college everyone can attend for free. It's called Wikipedia College. I learned alot from that college and it didn't cost me $80,000. And if I ever forget anything, I can always go back. Plus I don't have any student loan debts.

  • @eugene680 as silly as it sounds....wikipedia + google are probably two of the best learning tools currently....

  • @eugene680 lol!

  • @eugene680 LOL!! Awesome. I subscribe to the school of life myself :) Seriously I loved school but just couldn't afford it. It was nice for what it was, but I learned much more on my own (about any given subject) than I ever did in school, so because it was about "knowledge" for me once I found out that I could just learn on my own, the degree was not what was important. I got out while the gettin was good. (about 9 years ago) Still payin off student loans though; but not forever Thank God

  • @atlasshrugged2u

You realize there are grants out there, right? I know plenty of people who went through their entire college education on grants.

  • @eugene680 You never learned that a lot isn't one word though - unfortunately.

  • @eugene680 Put that wikipedia degree on your resume when you try to get an engineering job. I bet you will get in. Or perhaps you should hang it on your wall when you practice medicine or operate on someone.

  • Good teaching yourself partial derivatives and differential equations or how to improve microprocessors.

  • MY father told me college is only good if you can go for free. Here in GA we have the Hope scholarships funded by the number/stats-illiterates that play the lotto. • The Conservative plan is working. Turn the nation into a two class society where only their kind can go anywhere in life and others are left behind. Conservatism is meant to create a ruling class of Aristocrats. Reagan really did a heck of a job Brownie on that one. Look up what is wrong with Conservatism and read it. That will open your eyes.

  • college is SKEL factory. IT ruined nyc. nyc looks like a WELFARE hotel.

  • I sense things are going to be really bad, with the economy, where people are going to be fighting over jobs, food, clothing, shelter, soon enough. its a bad time to be having children also, given the food shortages to also come. but hey, I've seen things always as being bad, its just they were more noticeable now. guess this is what happens when people sit around and don't ask and research into what the politicans are doing. rich get richer, poor poorer.

  • People are better off making money for themselves instead of working for someone! All the employers are doing is making money off your skills and getting all the credit off your work! People, be your own boss and write your own pay checks!

  • Let's all give a big hand to those who passed NAFTA. Thanks for ruining America.

  • who gives a fuck if you get layed off with a degree... how about how much college degree holders make in the entire LIFE TIME.

Highschool grads or less become waitresses and trash pickers.

Also dont get pointless degress if your GPA is low. because its impossible to get a masters/phd. A pointless degree if you have a low gpa is like marketing, all the soft sciences and arts degree.

  • layed off or laid off? Highschool or High School. Excluding certain quirky professions college grads are pretty much break even at best with their high school counterparts given similar work ethics. Your assessment is meritless.

  • most people get pointless degrees.
