I just learned about this type of whaling a week ago. It's horrible. How can they cause any harm to such wonderful creatures! No really. Only soul-less people or maybe brainwashed people would think this is an acceptable activity. It makes me cry. Blessings to all the whales and dolphins, etc.

okay heres my take on it...we hunt just about everything else but everything else that humans hunt are not like a pet. whales and dolphins are very friendly and usually dont hurt people. when we hunt deer or anything else the run away from us but they take the niceness of the whales to their advantage which i think is not the way to do it

The IWC is NOT a lawmaking body and does not have the legal authority to enforce it's policies. Japan opposed the moratorium (as was their right) and put it in writing within 90 days and the IWC respected Japan's right to whale. You say Japan massacred 20 million. 20 million of WHAT? Yeah I don't have kids because I think the world is a little over-populated. I care about the animals of the world, I don't like seeing whales get butchered or tigers get killed for Chinese medicine. But this is a tradition for these cultures. What if some Indians came over to the US and said stop eating beef because it is a sacred animal? If the people that kill animals don't feel guilty about doing so, they will not stop. And law enforcement will not make a change in their mentality.

I have not seen it but I will in the interest of hearing some different opinions. Dr. Robert Pianka and other nuts like him are already working on the overpopulation by openly lecturing that we need to wipe the human race off the planet. He sees people as a parasite. Some simple reasearch indicates taht his graduate students work in genetics, medicine, water purification etc. That's why we have flouride in the water, mercury in vaccines and GM foods which are poisoning the population.
